This episode is great even just because it sparked a debate on how strong both BB and Law crew are, with Van Augur shooting bullets with as much piercing power as a Kong Gun of Luffy and Jean bart being able to tank one of them with some good ol' muscle flex. But then again, we see so little in the manga about both in term of power so really it's up to the air how accurate it is to the manga.

While LAW can pierce others via his devil fruits with superficial stabs, he cannot sever or displace any user with haki that is stronger than Vergo's haki with such indirect.l methods, unless that other person is willing. Like how Luffy was willing to let law displace his body. He is limited with conductive attacks through his sword and direct physical attacks.. Its my belief that when he came in direct contact with blackbeard's darkness shroud, he momentarily lost the ability to displace himself as well, which would explain why he looked already stunned, despite the scene not continuing.

HOLD TF ON A SEC, I was rewatching this because this episode is top 10 for me, DID BB PULL OUT RYOH AS HE WAS USING BLACK VORTEX? THERE WAS YELLOW LIGHTNING CRACKS! Also no one gives Law credit for using K Room to contain the tremor tremor fruit. Dude was actively suppressing a devil fruit with his own devil fruit and no one gives him credit for it cause he got clapped 2 seconds later. Granted it also locked him in, if he stopped using K room to try to shambles out, he was gonna get tremor crushed in a millisecond. Still best non-straw hat fight in all of one piece. And one last thing, everyone talks about the Van Ogre feat, but hard things become brittle in low temperatures, the fact that Jean Bart was able to block with no visible Haki tells me that the cracker soldiers were very weakened to begin with and he took advantage of their surprise to kill them before they could get their defenses up.
