I can't believe my parents let me watch this. I was an easily scared child but I still have my Rex plush toy my grandfather gave me. Being an Austrian this show still holds a special place in my heart.

That's really awesome but I have to wonder, the Austrian accent (Viennese dialect to be specific with this show) is a little different than the High German ones. Sometimes not even Germans understand everything we say, so was this actually difficult for you to understand the German used in this show?

I could cry. This intro evokes so many memories. I was born in 1990 and spent a lot of time with my grandmother as a child because my parents had to work. Kommissar Rex and "Hinter Gittern" were the first "adult" series I watched. Unfortunately my grandmother died 9 years ago. I think I will watch the first season again.

The only one that I love is the intro with Tobias Moretti (Richard Moser) in it! he was the best police and Rex owner! I wish he were a permanent member of the show! ❤❤❤

When I saw the episode with Moser’s death, I was about 8 years old, I think, it was the beginning of the 00s, and for me it was a real tragedy. I loved him so so much. It even seems to me that this was my first crush lol I really almost fell into depression, for me this was a real tragedy, I cried, for some reason I drew cemeteries with Moser’s grave haha My God, what did this series do to me as a little girl...

I am still sad that they killed off Tobias Moretti but it was his decision. To sad for Rex, all of his masters got killed.

I don´t think so. Alex Brandtner just went away, not killed (a promotion?). Mark and the Italians (when the show went to Italy), I don´t know.

I had a fear of dogs as a kid. Now i love dogs. I think watching Inspector Rex every Saturday night helped changed that fear into love. He did more than just fight crime 😅

The first two seasons were the best, because Tobias Moretti and the rest of that crew are unreplacable. When the intros came on with Brandtner, the whole ''Rex'' effect is gone. And the fact that it continued on the Italian tv made the series fucked, the Italian series was doomed. The first two seasons were the best

I like the first intro with Brandtner (1997-1999) very much with that rockin' electric guitar riff, but sadly it is very short compared to the intro of the first seasons with Moser (which I also like). From 1999 till the end the intro's got more worse. First seasons with Moser and later Brandtner as chief inspector were very good, but in the later Marc Hofmann seasons there is too much focus on the love relationship between him and Niki Herzog. In that episodes there is not such a good chemistry between the members of the Rex team (and very rarely the running gag with the wurstzemmel).

Funny how before I went to Vienna I thought all those Vienna landmarks in the intro here were so dramatic, but if they were shot in daylight with crowds of tourists around them... Then again, I did not shoot them in the middle of night from those angles (Prater wheel and Stephen's cathedral, for example)

watched only the first season complete. Interesting how the song changed from season to season, the only constant are the first notes of "the blue danube" in the beginning :) and the court medics looks always angrier and funnier.

What a dog my God! Love at first sight! I adore Rex , what a royal name... king ! Name and thing ! Rex and Tobias Moretti was the perfect couple . Not so fond for second one boss , Gedeon Burckhard ! Tobias is my first and only ! Boss ! What a great series ! Love all the characters ! Especially Rex ! One and one the casting ! 10 seasons of glory ! Alexandros (Pshill) Kompogioros gave me the vibes of Tobias. Combined with Elike Winkens!

Originally it was Alex death episode but creators cut that episode , because Moser was killed off so probably Brandtner return to bomb squad, Christian get promoted and leave the team , But to be honest Alex can't leave Rex alone it was a strong bond between them .This tv series whit many unsolved mysteries or maybe really Alex die in explosion and Marc was shot to death. I hope creators one day confirm the canon end for Alex and Marc What really happenned .
