The fact that Monty didn't give a Brian a demonstration on how his venom works on living tissue probably means he's forgiven.

Snake venom makes your blood into a solid brick by clotting it and Komodo dragon blood keeps it in liquid form by not letting it clot, that’s really interesting

I’ve fallen down a Komodo rabbit hole and I was so shocked to see an almost domesticated Komodo dragon. Biggest and most dangerous lizard on earth, and this guy has seemingly no predatory instinct. Even ‘domesticated’ crocs and gators always require a deft hand when they get big enough, but monty seems to be an exception. Like a deadly, scaled dog.

I remember not too long ago the fact that komodo dragons were venomous was highly debated. Now we have individuals like Monty who are willing to put up with some jiggery pokery to give us ready samples of dragon venom. What a gentleman.

Monty has such expressive eyes. I don't think most people expect to see personality or emotional expression from reptiles. Hopefully more people will now.

When I clicked on a video with a tube of blood in the thumbnail, I wasn't expecting the first thing I see to be a big ass lizard getting overwhelmingly wholesome good boi pets and visibly loving every second of it 😅

*Most Komodo dragons:* always angry, aggresive, untouchable *Monty:* I don't know what's going on, what are you or why are you sticking something in my mouth but I will let you pet me anyway because i love you (｡ ◕‿‿◕｡)

When he closed his eyes when human petted it, it was so cute. I think our hands are magical, even the dragon enjoyed being petted!

This is a pretty good example of the difference between fear and a phobia or irrational fear. I was fine when he was sticking his fingers near the dragon's mouth. Then I saw the needle when he was drawing blood and that legitimately raised my heartrate. I'm more scared of needles than something that could 100% kill me without trying.

I remember back in the day when people thought the bacterial infection from a Komodo Dragon bite was what killed you, then they found out there was actually venom! That was an amazing discovery!

1:15 But Brian wasn't forgiven.... Monty the Komodo dragon wanted revenge and began plotting that night. He waited for Brian to drift off to sleep in his quarters. For whatever reason, Monty never understood why Brian made him chew on those rubber tubes. Brian seemed like a good friend. He'd always give Monty back rubs and neck pats, but then he would get angry, and use the rubber tubes, forcing Monty to bite down on them. Was this for Brian's own amusement? Torture? Was it for the fact that Monty wasn't a real dragon? Monty wasn't sure, but he knew he could not let these vile act continue. Monty had acquired the same rubber tubes used against him from the animal jail-house supply room earlier that day. He snuck into Brian's room that night quiet as to not wake the other Komodo slavers up. For a brief moment Monty considered going after the rest of them but realized Brian was the true orchestrator of his pain. He quickly decided against it and continued crawling into Brian's room with tubes in scaly hand. There was his master, lying peacefully on his bed. Monty gazed upon Brian's face one last time with disgust and then whipped the evil chew cords out. He inserted them into Brian's mouth. Brian of course woke up and frantically wiggled but Monty would not relent. "Yes," Monty said, "Bite down on that rubber hose bitch....you don't stop until I tell you..." Brian let out a silent and muffled shriek that went unheard as Monty continued using his scaly hands to clamp Brian's mouth down around the rubber tubes. And the camera pans away. Some say to this day that Monty is still forcing Brian to chew on those rubber tubes... giving him back rubs and neck pats as a means of mocking him just as Brian had done to him. Other say Brian somehow escaped and ran off never to return. Of course this was out of fear of a talking murderous Komodo dragon. Only time will tell what really happened that night.

snake venom : clotting your blood vessels, so the blood cant transport the oxygen komodo venom : disable the blood ability to clot, so basically you're bleeding to death nature can be both terryfing and amazing..

Just a thought that It’s venom is quite opposite to those snake venoms that causes blood clotting. That may be the answer to prevent snake venom from causing damage. Nature has a way of balancing everything.
