The task is not to blink. Calle and Siri have already tried and failed, so now it's Bård, Vegard and Maria's turn.
From Kongen befaler (Taskmaster) Season 1 Episode 4.
Atle Antonsen assumes the role of the almighty king with Olli Wermskog as the assistant. In each program he hands out absurd practical tasks and challenges Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker, Calle Hellevang-Larsen, Siri Kristiansen and Maria "Piateed" Stavang. The comedians must solve the tasks in the most creative and efficient way possible.

I'm American and thought Rhod did amazing, but Norwegians are just different (insane). This was amazing. I'm only 7% Norwegian but a great deal Swedish. I'm going to try this out at work (customer service).

@@FredrikSkievan well actually in the UK show, the task started 10 seconds after reading it, so, they had 10 seconds to come up with the idea and close their eyes before the 10 seconds are over

@@richamo13 Det var det jeg også lurte på, fordi jeg bruker linser og når jeg har de på er det null stress å gå mange mange minutter uten å blunke, faktisk er eneste grunnen til at man blunker til slutt fordi man ikke gidder mer. Uten linser derimot klarer jeg meg ikke 1 minutt engang...

Thats like forklaring chinese to English and saying "they sound familiar" im Norwegian and i dont understand nor speak finnish. Norwegians understand swedish and Danish quite easily as the language are simular. But finnish isnt.

@@FredrikSkievan I'm pretty sure The assignment just says "Do not blink. Longest time win" so it does. It was what the winner of this assignment in Denmark did. But okay we don't see them read the assignment, so we cannot see in this clip if they formulated it in a different way in Norway.

I originalversjonen av programmet (Taskmaster) var det heller ingen som kom på den løsningen, men de ble gjort oppmerksom på at de kunne ha gjort det i sendingen. Det virker jo ganske åpenbart, men man blir nok stresset når man står oppi situasjonen og er under tidspress (i originalversjonen hadde de bare 10 sekunder til oppgaven startet). Vinneren i originalversjonen klarte forresten bare litt over 7 minutter, og det så ut som tortur, så jeg ble veldig overrasket over at flere av deltakerne i den norske versjonen holdt ut så lenge som de gjorde.

@@dalilarammstein8738 when I read that one guy on a Norwegian Taskmaster managed to hold his eyes open for 2+ hours I was skeptical but intrigued, after watching the task and seeing that everyone is seemingly great at this I have a strong suspicion that it was staged.

I feel like there’s no way those timer numbers are accurate. If your eyes were open for almost 3 hours they’d be so dry it would likely cause permanent damage. Like it’s just not feasible

for people wondering why he doesnt have the world record its because this is tv editing. you go blind if you dont blink for that long, its amazing you idiots believe everything you see on tv. i mean no one is even tearing up. you try not blinking be holding your eyes open and see how much tears that will generate.

do you watch the show? its unlikely to be faked as they take the tasks very seriously. the production would have full tapes of the task which they could submit for the world record. its likely he isn't tearing up due to his contact lenses which have an added benefit of preventing the eyes from drying out

@@godfearingturtle also him having contact lenses just further proves the point, it is actually very dangerous to let your eyes dry out while wearing contacts and people regularly go blind this way. contacts dont prevent eyes from drying out, they make eyes dryer. this is why its dangerous to sleep with contacts and keep them on for too long, eventually you go blind.

@@mija1110 thanks its nice to be called young. This is a werid flex to believe you are an expert on eyes. I choose to take Bard's word that he didn't blink fot 2 houes 47 minutes and that it wasn't faked or cheated. He did mention on the full episode that he saw double for a bit the next day.
