I'd disagree with her being the reason for it, but she is certainly a symptom. We teach the youth to hate the country (not helped by a succession of incompetent governments) we teach women to hate and fear men, we teach men the inverse, we teach all racial groups to hate and distrust each other, we teach everyone not to trust any authorities, we try to make use of experts to deal with crises but also not to trust what experts say. I believe it’s because he saw the last years of Soviet Union with his own eyes. For us the sole idea of young people calling for communism and praising Marx (most likely without reading his works, unlike anyone who grew up in USSR). When I see 20 yo from LA or NY saying that they are communist, I just really want them to go to rural Russia to see where it leads. And then they can go to Finland, and compare how formerly parts of the same country developed with and without communism. But I’m not sure there will be any conclusions there.
