Its really nice to hear from a Turk who isnt secular or atheist or non practicing. Ma sha allah. Alhamdullilah. Me and my family loved Turkey.. its a beautiful country with the sweetest people but what shocked us was how much the Turks hated Islam or didnt know much about it. They even rolled their eyes when we would say assalamu alaikum to us or not reply - we learned that it isnt common to say this in Turkey as its a very secular country. I wish my brothers and sisters in Turkey come to Islam and remember their Rabb before its too late. Such lovely people you all are but its sad that almost 80% of the population is only muslim by name because they find Islam backwards or associated with arabisation which is totally untrue.

It is told: "you brought plentifulness / blessings with your arrival" in Turkish. Usually at shops, when there are not much business but it increases a lot after a specific person steps in. Same can be told for bringing rain as well, (Rain = Life) and Konya doesn't get much rain usually, and it started pouring after your arrival :)

Konya isnot ottoman city. It was capital of rum seljuky state. See Central asia, İran' effect.Seljuky established Turkey, Ottoman is later dynasty.

Ertugrul is not that good.. It's barely history and some of the characters didn't even exist

I watched. But Inegöl, Bilecik and other South Marmara is more Ertuğrulish and Konya like Seljuk Empire and capital of tasawwuf.

Star Dust yeah thats because they didnt have much info its really hard to get because its so old (13th century) thats why they had to make up some characters and episodes.

I want to know where is the best place to live in Konya, is there good education for children, are there any tourist attractions and entertainment places one can go throughout the month ?

I went to Turkey before the lockdown in February..had the chance to visits Konya as I really want to ‘meet’ Rumi. Its one of the best trip ever and I plan to visit Konya again whenever I come to Turkey again. Insya Allah.
