I just bought the S24, because my S23 Ultra is so F'ing big that my thumb has got arthritis in the joint from trying to use it with one hand. Looking forward to my thumb joint recovery

Great straightforward review, and agree that the Pixel photos look better. The S24's generally have worse exposure and odd color hues, particularly reds - not only in this review but in most I've seen. Only thing is I hate the Pixel camera bump with its sharp edges.

Videos in 8K are totally unneccessary. 🤷‍♂️

I appreciate the fact changed the sides to try something different. I find holding it without a case a little easier vs the s23 curved edges. I'm getting 7 hours sot on cellular data without turning any features off.

Begged to differ. Doesn't look like an iPhone in anyway. Everyone complaining about slippery back. Put a case on it. Large percentage of phone user cover their phones with cases anyway. Loving my Pixel 8. Huge upgrade from pixel 5. Great review.

I just got the Pixel 8 after tossing and turning between it and the s24 (and Xiaomi 14, Honor Magic6 Pro) for almost a month and couldn't be happier! Samsung is a safe bet, I used the s21 FE which I was very happy with, but the Pixel is a very special experience. Top build, exceptional display, speakers, sound during phone calls, fantastic cameras, but the main asset is definitely the software.

My issue with the Pixel 8 is it doesn't work properly with dual SIMs. If I make a call on my secondary SIM it will turn the data off completely until I hang up the call. MMS is also working inconsistently on the secondary SIM. The battery is terrible, phone randomly gets warm regardless of what I'm doing, reception is mediocre and first party apps you'd expect to work flawlessly on a GOOGLE PHONE like KZfaq and Google Maps have the keyboard or screen freeze randomly. The camera is outstanding, the Tensor G3 behaves like a flagship chip (in non gaming use anyway), I don't think the screen is an improvement over my 13 Pro besides the brightness, but everything else I mentioned is gonna make me try out an S24.

S24's display make me nauseous immediately. I returned it and paid restocking fee. Now I am sticking to my S8 until I can find a phone that does not make me sick.

I'm torn! I've always had Samsung & wonder do I stay with what I know. 1 of my sons has the Pixel 8 & highly recommends it but he's used to Apple, so anything is an improvement, lol?

did you take any pictures of moving objects? Does the Samsung still struggle in that regard? I loved my S23 but went back to Pixel when I saw how terrible the photos were when my kids were moving at all (which happens most times when I'm trying to get pics of them). I'd love to get the S24 because as usual, the pixel is buggy and has janky scrolling just like P6 and P7. However, the smoothing of pictures and weak performance at capturing moving subjects is holding me back.

I developed a reflex when watching US based tech youtubers by skipping the pricing part. Importing taxes to my doorsteps are a pain in the ass. The income / person in my country is way less than in US and still the phones are more expensive than in US. Yeah, I know... Nice video man!

Currently debating between the 24 and the pixel 8. Was leaning heavily towards the pixel, but found out that the 24 uses Corning's Armor, whereas the pixel uses Victus. Having replaced my last two galaxy's because of broken screens, I'm wondering if I should just pay for the 24. 😕

I like both of them, they have their own advantages. Pixel 8 looks gorgeous in pink and has a more recognizable design and its software is also pure, but S24 is more timeless design wise and has a lot of option to customise and has a proper telephoto lens.

I've had Apple, Samsung and Google phones over the duration of the last 16 years. Most recently I've been with google for the past 6 years. Ive had the pixel 2,4 and 6. Personal experience is that google has been the only phone I've never had a single problem with. Not in 6 years. I get a new phone every two years and its currently my time to upgrade. This go around I'm leaning towards Samsung soley for the purpose to try something different. I cant imagine having a better experience than the pixel but i can always switch back in 2 years.

About the scratches, i always put a case on phones and a screen protector, just put a tempered glass protector on mine, do everything you can to look after your phone and get mobile phone insurance, it's a must

I think I try the S24 next. So frustrated with my Pixel 7. They preinstall google files, an app which can't be de-installed that blocks file transfers with win 11 over USB. Have to manually disable that app each time. Other than that software issue, I really liked my Pixel 7.

With the complaints you made about the edges of the S24 the pixel 8 should be your pick when it comes to build and i think the pixel 8 camera bump has matte finish different from the glass/gloss of earlier versions

I'd personally get the S24 because it has the 3X telephoto lens. I simply couldn't do without that when I go hiking and want to take pictures.

I've had my S24 for 2 weeks as well upgrading from Pixel 7. Agree, squared edges is uncomfortable to hold and is just a shameless iPhone copy for no reason. However, the fingerprint sensor, brighter screen, longer battery life, faster processor, smaller form factor, lighter screen destroys the Pixel 7 or 8. Camera is better on the Pixel.

Interesting that in Europe Pixel 8 is quite expensive. In Google store its 850 for 256. 950 for the s24 256. Operators give better deal with 650 and 800 euro. BUT Samsung give you free galaxy watch 6 LTE with S24

Got My S24+ today after 10 long years with iPhone. The display at QHUD is amazing better than Iphone 15 Pro and the camera is great too. I got the Pixel 8 Pro but I didn't like it (bad display quality) but this S24+ will be my phone from now on. Watching from Somalia

Every reviewer neglects to mention that the only caviat Pixel phones have despite them towering over so many other phones at their price range is that they overheat sometimes even at the most minute tasks. It's very annoying and why in switching out of the Pixel as soon as I can. I love the phone to death but I can't stand the overheating at the dumbest things. I haven't looked into why but I have a feeling it's due to them experimenting with their proprietary processors and are still working some kinks out. One of them being overheating issues.

The Pixel 8 has been panned as having horrible battery charging and temperature issues. It also offers less customization. Very disappointed with my purchase. I am switching to one of my older Samsung phones.

Samsung S series require more battery to function, and if you go for a smaller version of the s series the battery has never been good enough

I recently got the pixel 8 and nobody gets my texts unless my data is on. I hate it. When i looked into switching from rcs to sms it said i have to do each message individually. Im so frustrated and back to using my old samsung s10 even though it barely works anymore 😢 i also couldnt find the back button when using internet which was super annoying

I am interested because Pixel 8's selling point is great photo edits, group photo edits or object remover. How S24 compares to that? Main issue with Samsung AI is IT ONLY WORKS crappy Samsung keyboard. Gboard is SO much better with predictive text. microphone for speech to text ( cause who has time type).

I've been a owner for many years and owned several Samsung s range, I now have gone with the Google pixel 8, I did a lot of research, I moved because there wasn't much in it, but what made me move was the price, £10 cheaper a month with the Google pixel 8, there is some features I miss with the Samsung s range, the ease of it, the clock, alarm clock for one, Samsung has more features with that, the photo album is better laid out, the home button are in a better position as well as the back button, moving around the phone is better in the Samsung, but the photos in the Google pixel 8 is amazing, I had the S20 prior and photo on that was very good, the other thing is Samsung are going like iPhone and I don't like that, I like the flexibility of moving around different androids, I don't like something to proprietary

Pixel camera is generally great, but it tends to go over board with contrast and with cool images. Especially when you take picture of people and it is chalenging day light contidions. It is even there in your review in two shots when you compare selfies. S24 does tend to use more warm images since they copied Apple style, but it is at least consistant in that regard.

I've heard that the AI features are only free until 2025. Not sure if that's true or not, but if it is, then that's a major thing to point out as it's one of the selling features of both phones, and having it switch to a subscription on you after owning it for a year is likely to tick people off.

Here in Europe, we have been ripped off again with the Exynos chip. They are passing it off as a flagship phone. I always thought that calling your phone a flagship meant you get the best of everything. So if the Snapdragon is better than the Exynos, Samsung should put it in all S24s and put the Exynos in the S24FE. That would have made sense

I agree the 8 is the better value. But I really wanted a dedicated telephoto lens and dual sim so i got the s24 :3

Pixel 8 design is much nicer. As a complete phone the Samsung is the best for the price.

S24 is better. Pixel 8 is heavy and huge hump. S24 does not have signal issues as Pixel 8.
