I remember this group form the late 1960"s. I danced and sung along to many of their songs. I'm now 66 years old/young!

As a matter of fact, they became really notorious only as they did their first album, simply entitled "Kool & the Gang", in 1970. (They sure were already there in the 1960s, but they were "The Jazziacs", then ...)

I've noticed all of that before reading you ... Jut read other comments below, plus MY own new comment above, and you'll see ALL of the mistakes they've made ! Seems like they did it quick just to have the things being done ... Doesn't seem too serious a presentation of the group !

You left out other original members like Dennis DT Thomas Sax player whom you showed while mentioning another Sax player. So there are quite a few things you don't know about Kool & the Gang!

Not really a good story at all. You had some players represented by the wrong pictures and you left out Dennis Thomas. I also doubt that those home interiors or home exteriors are the real ones...just representations???? You got some pictures straight out of other youtube videos and some are just straight up out of date.

Why did JT Taylor not get a star on the walk of fame? HE MADE KATG!!! Yes, Shawn McQuiller is a fine performer, but he had bib shoes to follow. Glad he is still with the band these days

Woodrow Sparrow. Original member of KOOL AND THE GANG PLAYED THE LEAD GUITAR ...THEY CALL HIM WOODY. WE HAVE NOTHING FROM BMI .EXCEPT THE SMALL CHECKS WHEN THEY PLAY HIS SONGS..THANK YOU ..

@@cafernandez6491 It seems like this member was with the group during their 1970s period and probably for a short time, also the group went through a lot of personal changes along the 1970s and 1980s decades; but I understand that he should get what is due to him (a lot of former members from other groups face the same problems ... lawyers are there for that)

Somehow JT never made the transition to acting...Mambo Kings didn't do him justice and Raisin in the Son..was nice, but then.....nothing! Was there some kind of collaboration to keep him from moving on in his career? Other singers/vocalists do go on to film or the stage..NOT FAIR..because he had it all. I think he was just too humble and private for Hollywood !

Some BS Info about the earnings,I wonder why?Kool n da gang were all Muslim's at the beginning!Why is that a secret,Just like a lot of other entertainer's,expecialy a lot of Rapper's?A lot of Contradictions in that Religion also according to the teachings? I've always wondered about that, I met a lot of Brother's in the Army and there were many questions??
