as promised here's my Korea Q&A. Here I answered as many questions around traveling to Korea in 2022. Topics include how Covid is here, accommodation, transportation, language barrier and more! I couldn't get to everything so maybe I'll make a 2nd Q&A once my trip is over but I hope this helps anyone looking to travel to Korea or are just curious on how things are here.

Seeing a new youtube video of yours warms my soul up like the moment i first begin to sip on a warm caramel latte while looking outside of the window, seated in the corner at my favorite cafe, while a soft bts melody envelopes out from the speakers after I have been feverishly running errands all morning in frosty cold seoul winter.

I’m so glad I found your channel! I’ve taken a few months’ leave of absence from work to travel and really wanted to visit Korea during that time. But like you said, I wasn’t finding a lot of details about the quarantine process on the official websites, so I don’t think I would have gone if I hadn’t found your videos! They were sooo helpful, I can’t thank you enough! I followed all the steps you did and now I’m here, and coincidentally currently at the same quarantine hotel that you were sent to 😆 Oh and I also booked my flight 6 days before departure, it’s stressful but definitely doable 😂 Can’t wait to get out of quarantine this weekend and finally explore Seoul! 💜

Tip regarding money for US travelers (probably applies to non-US citizens as well but I'm speaking from my experience) I was able to use my mastercard debit card anywhere card payments were accepted all around South Korea and I was able to pull money from ATMs as well(I want to say with a 3,000-5,000 won fee depending on ATM). Many vendors and very small shops tend to take cash and not have options for card payments so I definitely recommend always having some cash with you

My first international solo trip was also to Seoul, Korea! This was before Instagram and improved translations in the streets etc! It was still doable and super memorable. Ever since then, I have been back a few times and things get better each time. Watching your videos make me miss exploring Seoul a lot, and it's like.. what, how did I miss that cafe, lol.

Thank you for answering all of these questions, it is really helpful! I'm planning a solo trip to spend the month of September in South Korea! I've traveled abroad to japan but it was with a group of people so I'm a little nervous to travel alone, really only the airport and figuring out transportation scares me lol! I travel a lot alone in the states so I'm sure I will manage and it will be a fun challenge! Also if South Korea is anythingg like Japan I know I will feel super super safe and defiantly enjoy my time :)

I hope you get to watch PTD in Seoul. Tickets are available for purchase as long as you have a Korean number. That would be quite an experience since concert culture in Korea is way different than let's say, the US. And for the translation app, I think the Papago app is much better than Google Translate. It's more accurate and there is less mistranslation in the phrases. :)

I also just got to Korea not too long ago. I’ve been here for about a month or so and I completely agree with everything you said in this video! Lol But as far as a good translator app I’d say to you Papago instead of Google translate. It’s more accurate and has the feature to say things using honorifics or casually 😊

Does anyone know how I can purchase tickets here? There is a Sunwoojungah concert happening April 10 and while trying through the ticketing website (interpark), I realized I couldn’t buy the tickets since I don’t have a Korean number registered under my name (SIM card number doesn’t work) and I don’t think I qualify for the foreigner registration number (alien card) since I’m only here on short-term visa. Has anyone else cracked this?

@@MaliaRamos oh yeah I heard that’s also happening in march. Going through a Korean friend (though I have none) could be risky right? I’m not sure how strict they would be at identifying if the ticket really belongs to you or not at the event gate.

Coming back here from the future - so after some painful visits to buy tickets at the venue itself, I found out there is a global inter park website where you can book tickets with just a valid email address - just make sure you bring your ID with you when you pick up the tickets at the counter. :)
