Now I’ve seen a lot of Korean celebrities announcing skin care products for the neck ¿wrinkles? I didn’t pay attention to my neck before but now I’m very self conscious of them. There is this product that is like a balm and helps with wrinkles and dry skin, in dramas, advertisements, events… everyone is using it. At first it was weird seeing them applying it in the neck, now I can’t stop looking at my neck line 😂 It’s so scary how can they make us feel insecure about something that you weren’t aware before. Hope you are enjoying your Europe trip! Wish you would come to Madrid one day!

Oh, I absolutely need to visit Seoul in spring. it looks gorgeous. I remember having my skin electronically analysed when I was in the Middle East. the guy got very excited about the amount of sun damage on my face and then proceeded to show me close up pictures of all my freckles! He couldn't understand that they were completely normal and not at all harmful in a lot of people and he was quite insistent about me having them treated! I hope you have a wonderful holiday xxx

Tip for making medical masks fit better: tie a little loop in each string! I always have to do this to make them work for me ✨

I agree so much with what you said about the "clinic". You should always be aware how they make money and that there often is a conflict between ethics and that desire. I also think after a while it just becomes habit to point out all the little imperfections for some of the people there. I went to a consultation for a jaw surgery at two places. Because it was for functional reasons, insurance covered the basic procedure. But one of the places tried to sell me on extras so hard. The surgeon who did the consultation was also a plastic surgeon and he talked about my masculine jawline and how to fix it quite a bit. That stoked my insecurity so much.

Honesty I am really glad you talked about this because I have people tell me all the time that I should or can get the freckles on my face removed. And it’s actually so weird on my mind when I hear that! I feel like the beauty pressures in Korea are real and it’s definitely something to look out for and be aware of when living here or moving here! ❤️ I hope your Europe trip will be wonderful! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I've had many similar "beauty standards" experiences but at the dentist. I've got slightly crooked teeth and the hygienists are always trying to push braces on me and my dentist is always like "girl if you don't want them it's fine, just brush your teeth and floss". It's so frustrating. edited to correct some wording that came out awkward

I definitely recommend the Time Traveller's Guide series (there's a Medieval one, a Tudor one, and a Georgian one, I think). They're very 'popular history' non-fiction though. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love them.

She recently lives in England and her books talk about cultural things blended with mysticism. Climate change really does it’s thing, living in our times is just a whiplash of extremely hot AND snowy springs and then summer is like barely 5 minutes of sun and just rain (I come from a VERY dry place, and last year it rained so much, which is good but also weird)… yeah, fun times🙃 autumn is like the new spring and winter freezes you away for what feels like 13 months

Not sure if this is appropriate to ask but I'm also a redhead living in SK and I've never had my skin checked for skin cancer before but realizing now I probably should start doing it regularly. I don't live in Seoul but next time I visit I plan on going to a clinic there since my korean isn't great. Do you have any recommendations on clinics based on your experience ?
