Next try, drink the soup first without any flavor or seasoning and drink up the soup. Then open up half of it, season it and put the whole thing inside your mouth. So that you wont see what you are eating. :D

im a Filipino and yes you are right i don't want to see the baby duck too so when i take out the egg shell i dont look inside and when i take out the shell halfway i just dunk it inside my mouth and chew but when i feel the hard white one i just take it out. Balut is good both tasty and nutritious.

It looks weird when you open it, but it is the cleanest cooked bird in all the world, because before being cooked, it was protected from any dirt, bacteria or viruses of its egg cover and too nutritious too. It taste good and good for your health, more if you got to work till the wee hours it will give you the stamina and energy to stay working till dawn. 😊😊😊

Many filipinos including me, only eat the soup and the eggyolk part because we dont like the texture of the bones and feathers of the chick lol. The soup taste better without vinegar. Dont eat the white part because its hard to chew and taste bland its like eating an eraser.
