So the scorched rice. You usually eat it like a rice substitute, like congee/porridge. You know how you get a bunch of sides to eat with Teochew porridge? Like that.
@chrislee2029
@chrislee2029 3 жыл бұрын
So from what I believe the NooroongJi (The Brown Cornflake like “ramen”) is usually the rice that has been “crisped” on the bottom of a rice when cooking a rice on a stone pot and hot water added to it. I think you just eat it like that but you can also eat it like a rice, and have side dishes on the side!

Nongshim actually makes ChapaGuri a real thing lmao. I always make it manually with Chapagetti and Neoguri For those of you who don't know: ChapaGuri was a made up dish made out of 2 totally different Korean instant noodles: Chapagetti (instant noodle with Jjajangmyeon sauce) and Neoguri (instant Udon noodle with spicy seafood broth) made popular from the Oscar-winning film Parasite. If you're wondering how it taste, imagine a sweet and savory sticky noodles with a spicy kick to it

That scorched rice thing is very traditional Korean food called "누룽지". That's a little bit burnt/browned rice you get on the bottom of the pot when you cook rice, you usually pour water onto it and boil them until soften and eat them with some side dishes or own it's own. The water part of that is called "숭늉", back in the day, people used to drink this as a after meal beverage. I can't really explain the taste of it, it's kinda similar to what barley tea taste like.
