Heimish Moringa BB Cream has a shade that just *might be a bit brown girl friendly. Also Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream which is darker than it looks on the ads. (I’m an olive girlie and no 23 works well for me. I think it somehow shade-adjusts a bit too.)

Not all are made equal so there's a mix of ethereal but dramatic looks. Chinese makeup has a big emphasis on matte foundation or a matte base in general but the lips can be glossy or matte and the eyes are twinkling with shimmer. But it's still focused on being matte, especially if you see how much matte products are sold by Chinese companies (that's their focus). With Kbeauty, the focus is on luminosity currently. If you're referencing really old school Ulzzang, then yes it was matte.

I consider it funny a bit that people call it „Douyin make up” and not saying directly it’s Chinese. Some time ago I watched a video about low confidence of Chinese people about who they are so they call themselves „East Asian” in social media to avoid saying they are Chinese but now the same thing happens to make up. At the end it’s just make up so it doesn’t matter where the style is popular, do what you want and call it whatever but I guess people confuse it and call it Korean style because its looking very similar
