For plantain to be sweet and soft, it has to be ripe. Saltier and harder means unripe. Hope that helps 🥰

As a Honduran my favorite dish on the table is probably el pollo chuco and yes we eat spicy too, but it really depends on the person. As of the plantains yes they are two different types of plantains one is green (the deep fried one with the chicken leg)and the other is a riped yellow one that is also fried with a small amount of oil.

It’s not traditional to put the spice in the recipe, but we always put it on the table so people can get some spice if they need to. A lot of people love spice. I am one of them!

You should check out all other Central American and Caribbean food. It’s the best and some similarities between them. I’m Salvadoran 🇸🇻 and Guatemalan 🇬🇹 and I grew up around Haitians 🇭🇹, Jamaicans 🇯🇲 and Belizean 🇧🇿, those countries I named have some of the best food I’ve ever tried in the world 😊

We eat spicy but not the whole country . We kinda let the flavors be the dominant flavor and not the spicy. I eat spicy and so does my family. Even a thing call curtido is like onions and spicy peppers in vinager.

@@jervi2391 I know minimal history myself. I grew up in Puerto Rican household, lived with Cubans during work travel. Peru & Mexico are winning IMO. Cuban was nice too 🤣 I’m not familiar with any other Latino cuisines. If you can recommend, comment😅👍🏽
