My waffle recipe was adapted from RunAwayRice's pandan waffles: runawayrice.com/desserts/pand...
WAFFLES
1 1/2 C. mochiko (sweet rice flour)
1/2. C. tapioca starch
1/2 C. all-purpose flour
1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. milk
1 T. Baking powder
1/2 t. vanilla extract
1/4 t. salt
CREAM CHEESE FILLING
8 oz. block of cream cheese at room temperature
2 T. honey
1/4 C. whipped topping

hey emmy, this is an old hack but i was hoping you might still be able to try it! there's a viral japanese hack of putting a teabag in your cup noodles to alter the flavor and eating experience - sauce stache has already done a great video on this, titled "hacking instant ramen with tea", but i was hoping to see you give it a try and to hear your commentary!

Well, this feels like a weird comment to leave, but just for my other folks who can't eat dairy: Cool Whip isn't non-dairy or dairy-free. It's ingredients now have both milk proteins and milk sugars, so it isn't your friend if you are allergic or sensitive to dairy or lactose. So Delicious puts out a dairy-free whipped topping that is usually sold directly next to Cool Whip in the grocery store and it's pretty good.

America's rules about food make NO sense!! Stupid casein *IS* dairy and it's almost always in "non dairy" products. That said, I wonder if coconut cream would whip up without ending up like butter?

I'm lactose intolerant but not enough that Cool Whip makes me sick, I like it with my waffles, great with berries!

@@sandramort37 coconut milk- the stuff in the the can with the oil inside- whips up really well. You just chill the can, then dump the whole thing into a bowl or nutribullet and whip it until it is the thickness you want; it will whip from soft to regular whip cream consistency. You just have to find the brand of coconut milk that you like the sweetness level of (or add extra sweetener).

EMMY please explore Filipino street food as well! When you have unripe mangoes, try eating them with shrimp paste (look for a Pinoy recipe for “Alamang”). It’s a beloved Filipino street food combination. ALSO, please try Champorado with Tuyo (Chocolate rice porridge with salted dried fish) AND Sinigang (Sour soup dish traditionally made from tamarinds and served with rice). Thank you. Hope you’ll get to try these suggestions soon. 🙂

Skyla My wife and I can tell you how good the Filipino foods you mentioned are. We own a Filipino restaurant and my wife is a very good chef. Also try halo halo again but eat it correctly. Halo halo means mix mix and that’s exactly what you do.

P.S. You can’t call Cool Whip a “non dairy” topping. It does contain dairy. “Cool Whip Original is made of water, hydrogenated vegetable oil (including coconut and palm kernel oils), high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, skimmed milk, light cream (less than 2%), sodium caseinate, natural and artificial flavor, xanthan and guar gums, polysorbate 60, sorbitan monostearate, sodium polyphosphate, and beta carotene (as a colouring).”

Our passed-down-through-the-generations waffle iron is essentially non-stick cast iron (seasoning over the course of 60 years) doesn’t even have a temp setting haha it’s got a light that turns on when it’s pre-heated, the light turns off when you put the batter in and close it, the light turns back on when the waffle is ready haha And somehow the cook level of the waffle is always perfect!

8:02 From that description, I think they were using what the bakeries use on cakes & pastries that have a whipped frosting/filling (it's very stable). You can usually buy it already whipped from the bakeries that use it.

Quick Hack: Toast some eggos, mix cream cheese, some sugar (or little vanilla extract if you’re boogie) and cool whip in a bowl and if you have honey or some Aunt Jemima’s slather it on one eggo and then the creams on another eggo and there you go

I missed everything you said after you assembled your waffle because my boys were literally trying to eat my phone!!! My 2 year olds and I love watching your videos together on the couch but I've never seen them do anything like that! I had to rewind it and let them watch a second time. Same.. but.. all we can do is appreciate what we have. We can ALWAYS strive for better, but it takes ALOT of hard work for some (me). And I don't have the time it takes for that effort. So.. dumb comment, i also stayed small after having my child, why so many thumbs up on this comment? is everyone really that fat after having babies that you all really find it amazing she isn't obese after having two kids? i think most american women buy the false idea that you must "eat for two" plus you guys drive everywhere and don't walk around much or exercise so you only have yourselves to blame if having kids ruined your body

K K my impression was that in the original video it must be beaten really hard for an extended time. To do that with regular cream would result in butter like she said. I’m guessing that rather than chance that she decided to go with the cool whip. That’s just my take anyway :)

I bought a Belgian waffle iron years ago and it came with a recommended recipe for plain Belgian waffles using yeast in the batter. After folding in the whipped egg whites, cover the batter and let sit 45 minutes. Don't stir it and spoon into iron, etc. Makes the most crispy and delicious waffles ever. Now I need to make this. I also love watching street food videos and have drooled over this many times!

I do the half AP Flour and half cake flour. You really don't want so much gluten build up for a chewy texture like bread. So rice flour, not for mochi, is best. You're supposed to separate the egg yolks from the whites. Then beat the whites with the sugar and vanilla until a thick meringue forms. Then you take your mixed other ingredients and fold in the whites to make that light fluffy crispy waffle. Hope that helps. Great job on the dessert! Sweet! I think some delicious sliced strawberries and fresh blueberries would really add some sweet tart tang to it! Great share!

As a filling try this... 8 oz of room temp cream cheese 3 tbsp of honey 1 tspn vanilla extract 1/2 tspn almond extract 1 PT. / 16 oz heavy whipping cream Start the mixing of the cream cheese, honey, vanilla, and almond in a bowl. Have the heavy whipping cream in the freezer for 20 min to get it cold than add to mixture and whip till stiff. You can use 1/2 cup of sugar instead of honey if desired. Jack Randall

Beat heavy whipping cream with some powder sugar. The longer you beat it the thicker it will get till in “breaks” and turns to butter. ( very quick and easy to make)

In my late night KZfaq binging I came across Pan Fried Honey Pancake or Hotteok. It’s so beautiful how they are made and they look divine! If you haven’t seen these yet pretty please look them up and show us how to make them! The Korean street food videos are sooooo mesmerizing! I’ve seen these waffles a lot and they look so yummy! Her waffle is just so mazing! There are like soooooo many different kinds of waffles in Korea lol so you can pick the flavor with variety of syrups or fruits! You can also add toppings whatever you want even ice cream on top. Hope you guys can try street waffles in Korea someday :)

Anra To there’s gluten-free versions of almost everything these days, and if you can’t buy it chances are you can make it. Just swap out the gluten-containing parts for a gluten-free version

were you hungry while you were on KZfaq? I find that when I’m hungry I end up watching these kind of videos and I’m on a diet also you can google recipes for desserts and curtain foods and anything you miss that are safe for diabetics my dad has T2 diabetes he still eats pancakes, cereal, pizza, pumpkin pie, donuts, grilled cheese, etc...... but he turns out to be fine he’s very careful about the portions and he eats lots of vegetables and other fiber rich foods
