@@CyberMachine I'd argue that it's actually the opposite. Korean make-up is very soft and natural, meanwhile American make-up is kind of "harsh" and in-your-face and doesn't really look very flattering on a lot of people. Granted, a lot of it depends on how well someone matches the make-up to their skin tone/eye/hair color and facial shapes to make it all harmonize. But in my opinion the more natural the make-up is, the better it looks on most people. Less is more.

@@fireflfy1no, it depends on your face shape and features. If you know how to do it well to benefit your features it can look good, but you also have to adjust tones and shades if your skin is darker or tanner

As a Latina with small partially hooded eyes and a round face, I never felt beautiful in makeup until I discovered K-beauty. The way they do their makeup in SK compliments my features so well it makes me feel so confident🥰💕 Edit: omg I’m so glad so many people with similar features can relate! I’ve always liked the minimal/natural look of the Korean side. It definitely suits my face better, although I do add black eyeliner at the bottom of my eyes because I kind of lack bottom eyelashes😭.

In regular day to day Korean makeup, they stick to simple but fresh looks. So no color contacts. Maybe the color contacts and cool outfits are reserved for the weekends or smth cuz during the week when everyone’s going to work, school, koreans are ALL about neutral colors and not standing out.

This is one of the best out of the comparison makeup vids! Most go for extremely different makeup styles for the cultures (USA’s usually a club style with extreme Smokey eye and tons of eyeliner, SK’s usually pretty similar to ur SK half lol) which always bothered me bc it doesn’t show how going for the same makeup look might be different in other countries; but you showed how even when going for a similar makeup style there are still differences in the cultural norm, much more realistic and informative! Not to mention the makeup looks great!

Koreans tend to get a lot of plastic surgery they don’t want to cover up that work so it tends to be toned down.

Twice Tzuyu looked drastically different when Korean makeup artist tried to force her natural arched eyebrows to straight eyebrows. Also, the drawn on aegyo sal looked ridiculous on her.

Yes, I agree. There’s not one way of doing it, everything goes. Basically what she did on the Korean side is regular makeup in America too. I dislike these types of videos. Especially when they try to create stereotypes that don’t exist. The only reason she can get away with this is because of her probably mostly very young gullible audience.
