@@NachoMartyMeyer since then I have modded my EX800 with the hawk800 plus automahawk kit, it adds velocity operators that can be mapped to the cutoff, or to any stages of the 3 env. It also desactivates the original LFO and adds 4 differents LFO, with lots of options, it also adds FM on the filter and pitch env, and mono/unisson mode with glide. the last version even has an arpegiator build in :) That's by far the central piece of my studio, totally in love with the sound :D

ohhh I'm glad to know that friend, yes, for me the Poly-800 / EX-800 is a beautiful Synthesizer, with a great and warm sound, very underestimating I think, if only it had faster envelopes... it would be super wonderful

get the EX ! and be careful programation is a pain in the ass ; but it's a lovely synth, especially for pads :)

and be sure the chorus work (parameter 48 on 1)

Synthesizer Home Sure, but the addition of MIDI CC will sure make sound design more enjoyable and being able to change parameters using knobs on a controller / sequencer while playing will be a welcome improvement.

well, if you need that... if you need knobs, why not taking a Polysix or a Juno-106, the Poly-800 is the wrong instrument

Maybe it's a bit late, but these 2 synths have battery banks internaly. They tend to fail or leak after so many years. That causes the internal storage bank containing all the patch data to get lost. So if you try to play the seemingly fine synth and only white noise gets out you need to carefully open the unit and replace the battery. The batteries are almost always coin cells with 3 Volts that are soldered to the PCB. After you changed the battery you can re program the internal memory. As for the Poly 800 or EX you can plug a phone into the Data input that should look like a headphone Jack and play back a MP3 file containing the factory patches while in programm load mode. You can get these Mp3 files containing all the data streams online if you search for them. Best regards

in these recordings the modification was NOT used, what you hear is the original machine, I think that yes... the modification is great, anyway originally it's a synthesizer with beautiful audio :)

maybe it wasn't a "direct answer", the Poly-800 and EX-800 was released in the same year yes, but Korg already had amazing synths like Mono/Poly and Polysix (1981), also the beautiful Poly-61 (1982), maybe they just wanted to make a synth that sounds really nice but much more cheap than the Juno-106, reaching many more keyboard players around the world
