I was just looking to buy a keyboard controller and saw one of these for sale for a very reasonable price. It has an incredible palette of sounds and effects to choose from. Having just listened to it I have to get it. It will do as a controller, a two octave range is more than enough for my purposes, and I get a cool sounding synth.
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
Hey if you can work with the small number of keys then go for it. It absolutely IS a great sound palette :)
@daeone15142 жыл бұрын
It even has software to download. If the keybed isn’t long enough, it can be used as a sound rack, meaning you can take a bigger board and run the micro x with midi cables.

Have one and has a great bunch of huuuge sounds...recommend the software to edit...the LCD tends to break. Not for gig, as it´s not very rugged

Ohhh Glynn I'm pretty happy about you. I know how you like all that's kind of tools. Your a synth fan ;) Thanks to show to us all that's things. Offtopic: I'm planning to buy a keyboard. Ek50 - ctx 3000 or psr e463. Here in Spain all of them have the same price. Any suggestion? I hate caso ui
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Casio would be my last choice personally. The Korg EK50 is nice and professional-sounding, easy to operate and has very nice keys. The Yamaha PSR-E463, with it's control knobs and sampling, is the most fun of all of them, it will really make your audience smile! So the Casio = great sounds but hard to use, Korg = high class for a real musician, Yamaha = sexy time ;) #Gearfacts

Maybe my next purchase of keyboard?? Idk. I love this thing and the x50. They were introduced In like 05, maybe 06 together.
@gearfacts2 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard they have the same sound engine, don’t know if that’s true
@daeone15142 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts yep. The HI sound engine from the triton series. I’m fact, x50 has the same 64 mb as the korg tr, and korg tr has the same 32 as the Triton Le, plus 32 additional MB’s. So the x50 and micro x are way powerful than they look

Yeah after hearing the lead sounds in the M50 I'm thinking of tracking another Micro-X down, just to see if it can do similar things (in a more manageable size)
@EnochDark4 жыл бұрын
Appears to go for $3-350 USD. Do you feel it's worth that given that the market is flooded with new small synths in this price range? It reminds me a bit of a Novation Xio synth or whatevs. Those go for about the same price. How would you say the stack up?
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
The sounds are great, but think of it just as a sound module. That 25-key layout is really just an input tool, it's no good for playing. I think the Xiosynth sounds a bit more out-of-date (I still like it though)
@EnochDark4 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts just sad they didn't do a joystick on this one. i mean, it's a korg after all...
@YouzTube993 жыл бұрын
@@EnochDark What do you mean by "joystick"?

@@EnochDark it does have a joystick! The mod stick looks like it only goes left-right but it goes up-down too!

I love the X50! I reviewed it years ago but it's way out of date. Looking forward to doing it again one day.

a very unusual selection of sounds. nice sequence sounds, like a very potato wavestate meets xiosynth. oh and to add, it might be worth getting a super wide angle lens for the camera so you can fit more of the synths in shot, probably not a fish eye because that distorts too much but a wide angle for them nice 16:9 shots of L O N G synths.....
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
I agree, I went in way too close for this vid. And yep it's a nice synth, it's only the 25 key thing that turned me off.
@foundatlantis4 жыл бұрын
@@gearfacts hmmm its got midi in and out so you could wack a sequencer or ext keyboard into it and boom. sequence + moar keys ! sonically, it should really have more keys like 49 or 61 at least.... nxt video look like a skate vid with fish eye :)

Why not just get Korg's Triton VST?
@gearfacts3 жыл бұрын
Ahh so many reasons. For me, the most important difference is for live performance. It's just an opinion, but I think taking a laptop on stage is an unforgivable performance-killer. There's no disputing the versatility and general superiority of VSTs though, so I hear what you're saying.
@doordedeur4 жыл бұрын
I had one. It's a great synth, but because I couldn't get the right software, I lost all of my programmed sounds. I ended up selling it with a loss, to prevent a nervous breakdown. I didn't want to program it from scratch again, after I had to do it many times before.

Version 1.5 of the editor works with win10 without problems. I use mine as a 16 channel sound module - straight into ios Korg Gadget. Saves my ipads cpu, gives great sounds, and through the editor you can set levels of the channels, effects, panning and more - or just the levels if you want a uniform effect setting for the whole track. Then you can mix it all in cubasis after finishing the instrument tracks in Gadget.
