Both boards are very good, according to the needs of each musician. One thing to keep in mind is that some SA sounds in the SX900, such as the concert guitar, already have built-in slip, this is appreciated when you play fast notes in legatto. On other instruments such as the electric bass, a pedal must be connected to the rear jack of the SX900, marked as pedal 2 so that the fret effects can be heard. Also remember that Korg PA1000, brings three buttons dedicated to the joints of the sound. In other words, both SX900 and PA1000 bring their own tools to recreate the joints of every sound. My opinion is that it is necessary to know a little more certain technical details of each instrument, before launching a definitive comparison

I've always owned Yamaha series (psr, motif, montage) and Korg series (pa, krome, kross, sv1) and yesterday I just purchased a Yamaha psr sx-700 (again) because I had to sell mine a few months ago. Then a friend of mine talked to me about the Korg Pa-900! And let me tell Y'all, guys, the realism of the different phrases Korg put in their brasses, violins, guitars (by hitting the switch button) [Unfortunately not used in this video] will make you definitely choose the Pa-900 / 1000 series!

Best way to see what you like is exparinse by your self , everybody has a diffrent of tease , I have both , and I love both , for me like the styles on sx and its a lot of download on yamaha expansion, and korg has a very high sound (Tone ) quilty for playing!

Aftertouch can be realized by pedal. But the chord looper of yamaha did the trick. And this is a reason why my desicion for a new KB goes to SX900. SW and knob panel of the PA are outdated.

If Yamaha cost as much as Korg, I would choose it only because of the styles. In other respects the Korg outperforms it with sound,bass,drums,aftertouch, vicalizer and editing capabilities and build quality in every way.

I think Sx900 compared to 970? because S950 to Sx900 are 4 generations and Pa900 to Pa1000 are 2 generations

Sounds korg pa and psr x900 are both good(exept voices),but styles? Styles quality yamaha psr x900 much more modern, elaborate and sophisticated than Korg pa 1000 (and p4x)

Both sound nice but 2 big differences which make the Pa1000 win : - at 14'15, distortion guitar is much better on the Pa1000, awful on SX900 ; - Pa1000 has got aftertouch, not the SX900 !

Bro in sx900 we add three layers for r1 r2 r3 and l1 and in korg how many layers for korg pa1000

Does this keyboard have touch sensitive keys as this is important to me as I want to upgrade my PSR 770? What I mean is when you press the keys hard, the noise is loud. When you press the keys softly, the sound is quieter. If the answer is no, how do I get around this? I want to buy it as it has the African Expansion pack which I am unable to get on any other Yamaha. Thanks.

Yamaha`s ease of use is much, much better than Korgs. I have Both Korg and Yamaha keys for home usage, and i play mostly yamaha because of how easy it is to operate. Also i like the new keybord on SX700/900 series, it`s by now one of the best synth-action keys on market...

if you can't handle the instrument, don't say it's worse. In terms of the edition, the Korg eats Yamaha for breakfast. Yamaha's keystroke quality is still poor. I had the SX at home for 3 weeks and took it to the store and bought the Pa 1000. Great instrument, better made, better keys and the TC Helicon which is much better than the whole VH 2 which sounds like a robot from Yamaha.

The distorted guitar sounds real fake (Casio like) on the Yamaha. The Korg is definitely superior on that sound.

In my opinion, the sx900 requires EQ tuning to sound more live. No doubt it has better quality sounds compared to Korg. I own the pa1000

SX900 sounds more modern , PA1000 sounds classic (not a bad thing). It is depend on personal preference, some people prefer classic sounds and some prefer modern.

The sounds and both keyboards are top notch. But which sound is ever appropriate in a song? Even this best sound is sometimes not appropriate in a song. So, the difference is in the other capabilities. Flexibility, programming options, quick access to settings, etc. Here, Korg has a distinct advantage (Song Book), but the rhythm section at Yamaha is much more refined. So which synth is better? The one you like better. Dot!

In terms of sound, in general, Korg sounds fuller and more natural than Yamaha. When I switch from my Korg to Yamaha, I always determine how thin the Yamaha actually sounds compared to the Korg. That is just an oblective statement, because both are worth each other in total.

@@hajduk77I don't see 90%, to me Yamaha sx900 is better for elite music arrangements than PA1000, you can visit my channel for more performances on the SX900. At least I have never seen anyone did it with the equivalent quality on PA700 or 1000 yet. Prove it if u made one on PA1000 with the factory voices.

In general Yamaha has better sound quality than Korg. However, Korg arrangers are more flexible and customizable in many aspects starting from sound creation (sampling) up to style creation and organizing live performance.

I agree that Korg has few better voices and some natural styles than Yamaha but if we do an over all comparison,Yamaha beats Korg with a massive difference. And the cost of the Korg doesn't make sense. I think these both keyboards should be at the same cost.

@@goodsound4756 Overall sound. I was only suggesting comparisons on YT. It was a mistake, but I didn't have time to drive far to the music stores. The Yamaha sx 900 did not impress me much compared to the PSR s 975. It sounds a bit better but has no WOW effect. I had the Korg PA 700 for a short time and there the bass and drums sounded like I had a small band at home. Yamaha is still flat and candy in that regard. Besides the execution. Yamaha looks like a cheap toy compared to the Korg. I think I will return to the store because I ordered online. The advantage for Yamaha is that there is a large amount of software available for it. There is less to Korg. Sorry for my english. I'm using google translator but hope you can understand that. Best regards.

Quality, effects, and sound are all the same. The bad thing on Korg: Drum kits are more realistic than Yamaha but, lack of punch. Korg sounds more live and bold, Yamaha a bit thin. And for the strings, Korg sounds more natural and romantic than Yamaha's Seattle strings. For some synth sounds, I think Yamaha is the best than Korg (except for some of Korg's flagship workstations).

korg is bad sound. Very nice is yamaha. sx900 is amazing keyboard. korg is very bad piano sound. Only Piano sound quality in korg , pa80 , triton same pa1x .. the others are all incredibly bad sounding
