I've had this keyboard for little over a year now and unlike Yamaha, it's a fully programmable keyboard. If you're open to the idea of working with a DAW, this keyboard becomes even more versatile.

First, I want to thank you for making this beautiful machine, not comparing it with all the machines in the same format. I like the KORG company, but I want to put something with you that I did not bring and did not say in all the companies that manufacture this machine. It is a remote control device. Rhythms and songs MP3 ... And also in the types of music and then his captors and remote and there are several other advantages of working BLUETOOTH .. Wow. what bunch of whiners in these comments! Do you all own a Tyros5 or what? Everyone says "nothing new here" -- I thought that a 10x increase in the sample lengths was pretty darn good. I also like the New Feature of taking an MIDI song and having the Pa4x chop it all up to create a new style with several variations -- right from the MIDI! Oh, for you who are still ignorant check out the "Bonners Music" YT video series (parts 1 through 6) on the Pa4x -- the Korg guy (Luke Edwards) in the background is continually providing commentary on what, specifically, has been improved and how while Tony White plays. You guys need to give this 'board another look & listen!

I played Korg PA4X recently in a shop and it sounded really super. Compared to pa3x it sounded far superior. It had some really cool features as you mentioned there. Its a big improvement and will lead only to better things in the future. I am seeing the bigger picture here. Korg is giving us with the PA series something only seen with workstations when it comes to sound quality output, similar to Korg Oasys or Kronos. Also talking about Tyros 5 since most people here mention that isn't Tyros 5 just an improvement over Tyros 4 ? I mean it looks the same too but it sounds better and a few new features, styles and sound. Triton sound was mentioned as well here and after owning the amazing Triton Extreme with valve power i can say Tritons were great for their time but compared to Korg PA3x and especially PA4X no chance.

+tkarlmann hi there. Would you mind showing me the problems it had on release so i can have a look if fixed? On mine the update shows version 1.02 so I am sure it has been updated. I know Korg released an update in late 2015. More updates will come for sure in the future.

We are looking forward to the production of Korg Pa5X Oriental, to be the flag ship of all organs including Yamaha. However, lot of development is required and anticipated with dedicated Basic Five Oriental Instruments Aoud, Qanoun, Nay, Accordion and Violin to be standard on the master Keyboard buttons and not on the touch screen. Majour increase in the capacity of RAM and ROM are also required, with top quality Stereo Sound and bigger Nine (9) Inch touch tilt screen. We are all waiting to see a lot of development from KORG, in the upcoming Pa5X Oriental.

pa3x = 256mb (maximum) - tyros3&tyros4 = 1024mb (max) - tyros5 = 2048mb (max) - S970 = 512mb (max) __ 400mb is VERY LOW capacity

+behrang miveh agree with you I used the Tyros 2 maybe 10 years ago. It had 1024 MB Ram !!! Thanks to Korg for listening to their users. NOT!!! Upgrading the RAM with almost nothing! a few good samples are 4-500 MB.

Those 2000+mb on the Tyros 5 is that just to store samples,styles or sound or the ram of the keyboard itself? Its just doesn't make sense for Korg to be so far away with the huge gap in numbers.

+behrang miveh Absolutely. In what way could the sound of this product with such lo-fi "90s Casio keyboard"-esque samples be described as "Professional" today. No comparison with a DAW running 30GB Kontakt libraries and VSTs. This is for old crooners doing 80s covers at the Holiday Inn...

After 5 years almost same sound,less RAM memory (user pcm ,whatever)...you even cut our possibilities to create custom sounds and you probably charge how much?4-5 thousand $ ?Not from my money,i'll keep my PA3x ....400Mb :D funny.... maybe you should ask Yamaha how to do :D Sorry,but very disappointed.

They should of named it pa80 le le le le because it's the same shit over and over with korg. This is a new body of a pa80. Same garbage drum kits and sounds with a few new upgrades. Thanks korg. It's 2015. Get with the program.

Korg pa4x is the best korg ever made Shqipe. The sound engine is incredible. Compared to korg pa3x you can tell difference in sound. I played one recently with Balkan styles and sounds and blew me away. Pa3x didn't do that for me. Give pa4x a chance as it has opened a new major sound improvement.

Although I agree Korg needs to create something entirely different to the past pa50,60,80,300,500,600,900,PA1X,PA2X,PA3X,PA4X. They need to create a better super sound engine, massive improved memory for user data, upgradable option. Easy installable hard drive for set, sound, recording and mp3 file save Better screen resolution also. Only problem is they think they know it all and its only good whatever comes from their ideas. Listen to the fans Korg and keep improving. Good job with the Korg PA4X anyhow. An improvement hopefully that will lead to better stuff in the future.

If you think this is a PA3X with a paint-job you should wait for the detailed specs - I have the district feeling that this is a significant upgrade - remember that their ads and promotions are to attract new Korgies too so you will see all the features you are familiar with. At least wait and analyse the fine details of the beast first. :-)

+Veljko Marinkovic It's tendency of the last years. They try to motivate me to buy because of more MB. But I want to here sound. Triton did not had hundreds of MB but its sound is great. Here I see opposite picture. The sound is disappointing.

Korg, You obviously put a lot of care into the design of your front panel layout as well as the overall Industrial Design of the keyboard itself. Why is it that the UI looks like it came out of the 1990's? We live in a world of beautiful UIs on iOS and Android devices - you are leaving a ton of opportunity on the table by ignoring what you're doing on that touchscreen. Pour des rythmes actuels et modernes ainsi que tout types d'instruments j'ai arrêté d'acheter des claviers qui évoluent lentement, de plus a chaque fois il faut en racheter un et revendre l'ancien à pertes. J'ai trouvé mon bonheur : Nexus piloté par un clavier midi, tous les mois sortent de nouveaux sons actuels et je m'éclate pour environs 50 euros de téléchargements, pourquoi les claviers de marque de procèdent pas ainsi dans ce cas j'en achèterais un pas seulement

Hello I have a question regarding pa4x When using internal limited compressor on drums track. I can not have my kick coming out separately from output 1 or 2 but when i turn of the compressor it works. Is there a trick to this?

61 keys variant costs 3 800 USD Street price. Its not worth it, for lower price you can have computer based setup with more outputs, more patches, more PCM data, more memory for user sounds - 400 MB is way too low, more splits - just 1 split point on Pa 4x its like from 80's, just one sound no layers on left hand, computer can do nearly unlimited efects (not just 10) AND you can have very nice MacBook Pro notebook. You can even buy wooden piano keyboard Kawai VPC1 and still it will cost less than Pa 4x. I am not impressed at all. Also working on small resolution screen without keyboard and mouse is pain. Its just too slow. Compare PA 4x with 7 year old PA 2x, improvements are minimal. I think these types of instruments are dead end, lets compare it to macbook based setup - for just 100 EUR you can have Alicia keys piano from native instruments 12 velocity layers 17 GB of sound samples - thats real progress!

As I was watching this depressing video for a 4000 USB keyboard, I was thinking that maybe a MacBook and VST setup can be cheaper and better, but are you sure it will last? Software will start breaking up if it won't be maintained (and that's usually the case). At least, by buying hardware, you're sure that what you get, even if obsolete, is going to stay with you and work for a while.

Ten times the PCM, the Pa3X has 256mb pcm data, that means the pa4x has 2G pcm data at least? after all kronos has Giga level samples

your sums are wrong, the pcm is compressed, the Pa3x equates to 512 uncompressed so try 5gb for this product

Agree with legenofme26.Korg...we need synth-action keys,light,not weighted or semi-weighted(look on the old kawai k1,yamaha dx synths keys)...Again keys depth is so big..,piano style hard to play fast...We need to play fast not piano style.Anyone need weighted keys go buy Piano kEYBORDS...

I don't get arranger keyboards, why no just take a simple midi controller and plug it into your laptop. Infinite soft synths, much easier to upgrade. Sure you have to carry a laptop around, but seriously, its probably lighter than this

Perhaps for the instant auto backing band styles (drums, bass etc.), chord interpretation, single finger chords etc? Not clear how to reproduce this in a DAW. If you know of a way to get that functionality in e.g. Ableton I'd love to know.

The Tyros is a polished, expensive turd, just like all arranger boards. Get a Montage or a Kronos or any older synth workstation for that matter, even the first motifs that came out in the early 2000s sounds superior. Are you a kid with a toy?, get a synth man, you need it! 😆

Тот же Банан,только вид справа.)))) А экран Отскакивает от пружины.Стрёмно сделано.Тогда от Второго РА надо было механизм подъёма экрана вставлять.Пойду Третий PRO куплю . У этого экран , как выскочит так его и не вставить потом.

Pa3x is better then Pa4x ...!!????!! PA3X has motorized screen with absolutely no mechanical bugs with it - PA4X has mechanical manual screen no motor! PA3X has 3 MFX for keyboard upper tracks - PA4X has only 2! PA3X reads and compresses LPCM - PA4X doesn't! - compressed sounds sets from pa3x won't load on the PA4X KORG is a company with over confidence, becuase it's the best seller of pro keyboards this era. and it makes me to ask..whats going on ??? earlier version can do more then new one????? are they kidding us???

yo he tocado en este varias veces y solamente me ha gustado el piano acustico, lo demas no me ha gustado me suena demasiado a teclado barato(barato pero te cobran 4000 euros por esto)

Luis Lopez Que calidad de teclas tiene este teclado amigo? yo tengo un yamaha montage 6 y las teclas estan chidas. Pregunto porque quiero comprar este teclado pero para mi lo mas importante en un teclado es el sonido y las teclas.

Si quieres mas teclas cómprate un controlador de 88 y lo enchufas al montage En todo es superior el montage Este a mi no me ha terminado de gustar El piano acústico suena muy bien lo demás no me agrada mucho Pero el piano del montage sigue siendo superior al de este por supuesto

Luis Lopez Planeo en comprar un teclado arranger mi hermano so no tengo mucho conocimiento en lo que es los arrangers, sea psr de yamaha o el korg pa modelo. Un problema es que el genos esta muy caro pero con los videos que e visto de los sonidos suenan muy padres.

Korg seems to have trouble innovating. The Volca Modular seems nice but the rest are just upgrades of already existing products.

You gotta be kidding.... This is bullshit KORG!!!! Whats the difference to Pa3x? 400MB? Oh come on guys, a 128GB USB stick costs about 30€, just join the future KORG. I'll bet many of your customers will stay on Pa3x or switch to Yamaha. I just say... BULLSHIT!

Its not as easy and as simple that lol. You dont think Korg can do just space ?That 400mb is not like a usb memory stick lol. Its more like ram to run the thing for the samples. You have the option on the korg pa4x to install a hard drive on the back. The 76 model already has one installed.

Korg has 10x more pcm than pa3x so do the maths before comparing ram to storage space.

Its not only because the pcm. The difference to pa3x is not given. Same sounds and same optic. Everything is same. Nothing inovative or specially new. Just little bit more pcm and new paintbrush. Bullshit! Never gona buy that thing. Sorry. Drumkits, guitars, bass, piano and everything else just sounds same since pa1x. Don't fuck with us KORG. I'm really pissed for this. I've Never used one of your stupid dnc sounds. So concentrate on something different, think different. Think YOUNG and get your shit done right!

KORG Sounds and styles are more realistic than Yamaha. They seem more natural and live rather than those of Yamaha, which give you the impression that they are recorded in the Sound Studio.

And what about the Lyric conection wia WIFi with tablet Android etc ... and controling songbook with tablet it is nothing newsOld PA1X working the same nothing new. Disapointed in 21 century and nothing creative in new Korg arranger. Milion of sounds but nothing realy functionaly for musicians .Only grafic is a litle modern nothing else

les violons sont toujours horribles pour + de 2000€? c'est quoi cette arnaque encore? les orgues sont chouettes, le saxo pourris, la guitare elec potable sans plus, les cuivres ensemble nulles, la guitare acoustique pas mal, pas de gros progrés finalement. on vend la même soupe depuis le "Oasys"

Pour des rythmes actuels et modernes ainsi que tout types d'instruments j'ai arrêté d'acheter des claviers qui évoluent lentement, de plus a chaque fois il faut en racheter un et revendre l'ancien à pertes. J'ai trouvé mon bonheur : Nexus piloté par un clavier midi, tous les mois sortent de nouveaux sons actuels et je m'éclate pour environs 50 euros de téléchargements, pourquoi les claviers de marque de procèdent pas ainsi dans ce cas j'en achèterais un pas seulement pour 3 ou 4 ans ?

Oui c'est l'hypocrisie des grandes marques! ils veulent se faire un maximum de marge et rendre leurs produits obsolète au bout de 2ans catalogues, et vite les retirer pour maintenir le prix en hausse. c'est une politique de profits, ils le savent, car d'un point de vue hardware il y'a peu de progrés, a part le tactile et les menus hauts en couleurs. Le seul petit avantage et le temps de chargement des sons "hard" contre les softeux pure jus. et encore! il vaux mieux charger 16 sons sur 16 canaux dés le début du concert, avec le tandem PC/MAC+ banque de sons comme votre NEXUS ou autre (il n'ya pas photo comme on dit) peux de gens sont encore au courant de cette vaste supercherie (arnaque) du hardware, et ne connaissent pas les avantages sidérant du SOFT +PC/MAC (a prix équivalent au début!! et upgrade bas cout!!!) moi j'achete des banques de temps a autre a 100€ pièce et encore ! pour 3000€ en tout je déchire n'importe quoi! y compris le clavier piano roland à 5000€ ! il existe des émulations a 200€ du Roland V grand Piano, du délire! les gens n'y croient pas car ils on confiance en l'adage : si c'est chère c'est que c'est meilleurs! quelle connerie. tant pis pour eux, les vendeurs se frottent les mains. L'avenir c'est le SOFT!! ps: essayez Spectrasonic Omnisphère qui est encore plus "grand" que nexus,(quoique plus chère mais des milliers de samples et presets en 1 achat a 300€. puis des rajouts a 50€ voir 100, largement meilleurs que n'importe quel clavier a 2000€
