I’ve had these same boots for 2 years now and love them. My Simms are now just a backup pair. I went a full size over my normal shoe size because I fish a lot of cold water during cold days and like thick socks. Works well for me. The boa system, which I was initially skeptical about, is worth the extra money. The ability to change soles I thought was gimmicky at first but now I have 4 different sets depending on where I’m fishing and whether or not I’ll be in a boat.

Awesome to hear. I didn’t know those were the boots you were rolling with. I’ve had mine out twice, they’re great so far.

I’m happy with them so far, already used them around 10 times. I really like the BOA system for lacing. I have not had any issues with the soles coming off in mud or sand which others have reported, and I’ve been in both multiple times. The only demerit I give them so far is the BOA wires have cut through the rubber flap, which keeps the wires separate from the tongue. It doesn’t seem to affect anything though. However, I should mention, I’m pretty intense while steelhead fishing, so it could be user error. 😁

I appreciate the comment! I have used them 15 ish times. No issues. No lost soles in mud or sand. I’m happy so far.

Perfect timing for your video. I have a pair of Greenbacks in order that have been delayed. Now I think I’ll cancel them and go with the Darkhorse instead. Wish there was the option to choose which soles you want with them.

I agree, I would have picked studded felt and probably rubber for the drift boat. That would have saved me $50 bucks! I’ve had them out 3 times at this point, still pretty happy with them.

I’ve had these for about a year and really like all the features. Here are my thoughts and experiences though: I’m also a size 11.5 and the size 12s are a scoche too snug. My toes end up feeling it by the end of a long day fishing. The BOA system is awesome. They drain great. Unfortunately the rubber on the toe has began separating. I do not put them next to heat to dry them or anything like that so this is just something they started doing on their own. It just started so I haven’t reached out to Korkers for a warranty claim yet. Hopefully they stand by their product. Haven’t tried the Omnitrax out yet but I did get my studded felt soles in the mail a few weeks ago so I plan to switch those out. Tired of slipping on muddy trails.

From what I’ve read, they have an awesome warranty. I’ve had them out twice now and the fit works perfect for me. I wear Darn Tough Hiker socks with my Simms waders.

That’s funny I also wear darn toughs. They’re amazing socks. A quarter inch more room would be great for me but between these or the 13s I would rather have these. I’ll let you know how the warranty claim goes.

Sounds good. I tried on the 13’s at Cabela’s. Way too big! I would rather a boot fit snug than too loose. Mine were snug at first but fit like charm after an hour or so. Maybe you’re a 11 3/4 😁

I've had two pairs of Korkers, one pair of wading boots and one pair of hunting boots. Both wore out fast; and yes the rubber separates.

I had the River Ops model and found they let in A LOT of grit... Like way more sand and stuff then I was used to coming from Simms. Large sand to small rocks and found they absolutely create issues for your expensive wader felt booties. Just a heads up. -This was the lace up model of the river ops not the boa so not sure if they are the same or better etc. I am tempted to try the G4 boots from simms but if you look at them, they really dont give you much felt these days. Seems as though they want you buying 400$ boots every 2 years if that... sort of ridiculous. last pair of simms rivershed boots I had ran me 5 years before re-felting them. No kidding. After the re-felt they were totally fine again for many years... Cheers.

I had great luck with these boots last year. I did consider the higher end simms as well. I am a fan of the boa system, easy on and off, no laces in the dirt. I don’t remember getting any rocks or sand inside either.

@@RAGEFISHING nothing against korkers. I shoulda said the rep i spoke with told me they will vary. So one boot vs another, totally diff experience which makes sense. River ops “dump water” which explains why so much grit enters etc. Devils Canyon are also good ones to try~
@RAGEFISHING

@@danb3703 I’ve only used them for 1 season, so probably 15-20 uses?? I’m always willing to try new gear. So far satisfied. I went with the dark horse because they seem to be built stronger than the devil’s canyon. I looked at both. The Devil’s Canyon are supposed to be more of a hiking boot, but I’m pretty hard on my waders and boots. So I took the extra weight of the dark horse and am glad I did. I also have had zero problems with the soles coming off like some have reported. Even walking in sand and mud.

When I get back home…. I give my wading boots a rinse from the hose, but then just leave them upside down in a winter cold and little damp Oregon garage floor. After a long day fishing, what do you do with wet wading boots?
@RAGEFISHING
@RAGEFISHING 2 жыл бұрын
I rinse them off with the garden hose and put them on a boot dryer WITHOUT THE POWER ON! 😁 I put them in our utility room, which is in the main house. I’ve heard drying them upside down in this manner is better for them. These boots dry out really quick.

@@RAGEFISHING Maybe I can invent a wood dowel boot hanger for the garage. 👍🏻
@RAGEFISHING
@RAGEFISHING 2 жыл бұрын
@@archit2796 that would probably work! Something to allow them to drain and not be sitting right on the floor. Those felt soles take forever to dry like that.

Like the look of the Korkers. I find myself on more unplanned trail hikes in my studded felt boots than I like. Being able to replace felt and studs for $50 when needed, is a plus over my current boots.

What size do you recommend relative to shoe size?
@RAGEFISHING
@RAGEFISHING Жыл бұрын
Korker’s has a size chart on their website, mostly advising to go a size up. I’m a 11 1/2 shoe, went with a 12. They are snug, but work good. If I were a 12, I would size up to a 13.
