Thank you for the food coloring tip! I replaced my toilet's old fill and flush valves with the Korky Universal kit which was an easy process, with one exception. My Kohler toilet had a thin triangular gasket unlike the thick round gasket included in the kit. I installed it, made sure it was a snug fit (maybe too snug as the tank tilted back slightly). Later, I notice a few drops from under the tank, so I tightened the bolts which didn't help. I had hoped it wasn't the gasket, but your food coloring tip confirmed it was the gasket.

Yeah I like your videos to help with repairs. I followed your installation video for the Korky Universal kit.. I’ve had to make some adjustments along the way but oh well. I’m gonna put in a Korky handle lever soon. I didn’t make sure about the flapper position on install but it’s close. I hope I can find a handle with a telescopic rod to get the position right over the flapper. Have you seen the Korky rubber gaskets to replace the wax rings? When I buy some of the large size toilets I think they might be easier to work with.

Kohler toilet circa 1984, the plastic handle rest has stop located above the rest to restrict the upward motion of the pull chain. You must cut off the top limit tube which is part of the assembly to enable the range of motion necessary to complete a full flush with the Korky flapper. Otherwise, the flapper will immediately release and close off the waterflow unless you continue to hold the handle down. Using side cutters for this task, be careful to not damage the rest of the assembly which is being used to position the handle correctly on the toilet.

I cannot get the unit to seal no matter how much I tighten the nut on which fastens it to the water closet. I called tech support and they said they never heard of the problem. Should I use plumber paste to create a better seal?

Water is not shutting off after flush. What can I do?

I have that same Korky flap replacement and have noticed that the flap doesn't always land back on the flush hole completely straight. I have to wiggle the flush handle to straighten it up. Have you ever had that issue? After watching your video, I'm think I might update to that adjustable strong arm you have to see if that helps.

had problems emailed them been a week no response so far going to take it back bought the premium kit still had to buy a new flush handle also could not get the water level where it was suppose to line up, whey is there a hole U have to line up on the flat??what it's for ? ,

Water level in bowl is to low

Do a video taking the Korky unit apart. There are basically only 2 parts that can wear out. The cap assembly and the flapper. Fill the tank, shut off water supply. Wait 15 minutes, if the water level is dropping or gone, the flapper is leaking. If not, replace the cap which you can do basically without removing anything or going to the expense of replacing the entire valve which is pointless. Don’t forget to rinse the stem filter. Show people this stuff, it’s actually useful if you’re Korky unit is leaking.

Korky products do not come with instructions. My flapper does not stay "up" after pushing the flush handle to complete a full flush, i.e. the tank does not adequately empty unless the handle is held down. Then sometimes the flapper doesn't seat correctly resulting in the toilet running.....................no troubleshooting tips provided to fix.

This thing is JUNK! I won't buy another one. This was one (really 3) items I'll regret buying from Home Depot. All of them failed in about 7 months ... at the same time! It's garbage 🗑! 🤬
