Korn was one of my gateway bands into metal and their first 4 albums, especially Follow the Leader are great albums. After that it was hit and miss, but ever since the Serenity of Suffering they have been on a good streak. This album is weaker than the Nothing and the Serenity of Suffering but I still think it's decent.

It was fun, but I wish they would just change their production sound. Back in the Issues and Untouchables days it sounded clean and crushing and it didn't make the guitar and bass sound like afterthoughts. The raw/animalistic sound of Self-Titled and Life Is Peachy would also be great, but their production they've been rocking the last couple albums are my biggest critique

I got into them in 2003, Take a look in the mirror, then I went backwards. After that I didn't really like em, at least that was their last heavy record. David left in 2006, Head left in 2005 but came back 2013.

Take a Look in the Mirror is the most underrated album by them. Top five for myself though, Fieldy's bass is just so prominent on that album

My gateway to heavier music back in the Issues days. I stopped listening to Korn for like 15 years, but really liked The Nothing. This one was pretty ok on the first listen, and I appreciate the brevity, but not sure how long the lasting power will be.

I love, love, love Korn. The Nothing was an amazing album in my opinion, and while this wasn't as impacted for me, I still really enjoyed it. I hear a lot of Alice on Chains influence on this album, and I really like their stuff too.

For me, it's a 5/5. It just sounded so different from what Korn normally does. I don't agree with any of the songs sounding like songs from past albums

I've never actually listened to much Korn, so this was an introduction for me lol. I thought the album was decent, but the songs all kinda had the same feel overall. Disconnect I thought had a cool chord progression though. Some parts of the album I didn't like but overall I dug the record lol. Rating:3/5

Not every metal album needs pig squeals all the time. This is a 10/10 for me. Like the band, I grew. This album had everything I wanted from 2022 Korn. Could it have been heavier, sure. Could it have been grittier sure. But it's their decision. Don't understand why people pick apart albums so heavily. I'll never understand it. 9/10 people just want the old shit, you can't capture that ever again. Dope review fellas. I give it a 9/10

Don’t classify Korn as Nu-Metal. They haven’t even considered them that since the first release. I do agree that the album is really melodic, more at times than we want but it was still solid. The last album was very good and very balanced. The serenity of suffering was also Jonathan using his growls in about every single song. I think it really does depend what mood he’s in during writing. The nothing has possibly the heaviest Korn song ever and it’s because of what he went through during that process.
@codyburnett39782 жыл бұрын
Gave this one a 3. Kinda a bit too tame compared too the last two and kinda leaning back towards "Paradigm Shift" which I just can't listen to due to how bland it was. Honestly, I stopped listening to Korn after "Take a Look In the Mirror" and how uninspired that was on top of the band damn near breaking all the way up and not just Head leaving. I heard the one after that and hated it and didn't really go back until "The Serenity in Suffering" and "The Nothing" which were solid releases compared to 2003-2014 which were just boring or just plainly "WTF are you guys doing". Hope Fieldly gets straightened out and can come back but I really think the band might just call it seeing as they are in their mid-50s now. Kinda hard to do teenage-young adult anger when your kids are in their teens now.

I meen I think for people about my age born kinda mid eightys and at school around that time I would say Korn probably introduced alot of people into Metal.. like Slipknot also, so I will always respect Korn and want them to do well. However for me it's those first 5 albums where they were at there peak, since then I've really struggled to find much in there catalogue that I can get into, even Surrenity of Suffering and the nothing which people kind of point to as a comeback for them I still think, well its OK but just something seems missing, maybe abit of creativity or something, I can't put my finger on it

Necrotic Nick- You're not going to like everything you listen to but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least check it out and see if there's something you dig. I've gone into reviews thinking I wouldn't like something an been completely turned around by it. The real way to see if you'll like an album or not is to check it out for yourself. Also, judging by your comment I take it you didn't see they gave it a positive review at the end. lol
