I literally watched 1st episode and didn't even realize that it was in black n white😅

For me, as somebody who prepared for JEE with all my might, the black & white format signifies not just the lack of colours in life but also the fact that when it is happening in real time, life doesn’t actually feel colourless (like how people working inside the B&W don’t see in B&W) but once you look at it from a different frame of reference or even as a memory of the past it appears colourless, bleak to be precise. You realise how dark that time was even if you didn’t explicitly feel it back then because either too much was going on with you or maybe you were just a child. The B&W theme depicts that hindsight/external perspective really well.

Vaibhav was the best...from the first scene of episode 1 to the last scene of last episode of season-3...we didn't even realise that the show was not in colors...storyline rocks..

Considering that evertone knows what a jee/neet or any preparatory exam aspirant feels like especially in Kota. I would love to hear what else people thought about the symbolism of the movie being black and white. I feel it represents depression unrealistic expectations fear of failure no support from elder peers etc

Actually, in series they showed colours in a part when Vaibhav shifted to new institute and hostel ( Maheshwari Classes) for a short period of time and that colour scheme actually made me realise that the series look much nice in B&W ❤

This season is mainly to inspire a lot of aspirants out there, who are preparing for IIT, or any other competition... Nd it's good that the season is in black and white, because they are already stressing their eyes out on study materials, so BnW content is actually helpful to those students and even if they find Kota Factory, so inspiring that they re-watch it again and again as we do with FRIENDS, then BnW is beneficial for their eyes... Although with different reasons, that the show makers have taken this unique step, but I believe it's for good, especially for students. Good Job Guys...

I didn't even noticed at 1st place that it's in b & w . My interpretation was that its mainly focused on students life and its major audience will be them.. anything b& w causes less stress in eyes, even if you binge watch it , will cause less harm to eyes. And another is that struggle of these b&w days will bring flying colours in future 😊

To me, there is similarity between Schindler’s List and Kota Factory in terms of life dimensions. There is one happy sub-plot where visual becomes in color and then it realizes the life is going to be same, visual goes back to black and white, which resembles with Schindler’s List. Only difference is in case of SL, it goes to color at the end. Not sure if creators of Kota Factory were inspired by the treatment of SL.
