In 2011, very few people knew who 100 Bulletz was. All of that changed during the 2012 1 vs. 1 Grand Prix in which Bulletz made a deep run, impressing many by taking down veterans such as Charron and Kid Twist. Now, in 2013, Bulletz is extending his fan base, having battled overseas in Don't Flop, done a Proving Grounds URL battle, and made his debut appearance in KOTDWC. Bulletz is one of the best new faces in the circuit today, refreshing crowds with his wordplay-centric style that is both complex and clever. Continuing his rise to the top, the Windsor native has put in an incredible amount of work in the past 18 months and is finally beginning to see the fruits of his labor.
One of the most well known faces in battle rap, Dirtbag Dan can claim to both one of the best bearded battlers and one of the most traveled. Having battled on camera in Sweden, Canada, Australia, Norway, England, and the Philippines, DBD has been in the game longer than most and has the resume to back up his skills. Representing San Jose, Dan has made himself synonymous with battle rap, having racked up countless battles against opponents such as Mac Lethal, Mad Child of Swollen Members, 360 and Ness Lee. Over the course of his lucrative career, Dan has earned a dedicated following of fans, and has worked just as hard to establish himself as an emcee as he has to develop his battling skills.

I get what all the recent comments saying about Bulletz getting slept on... But if you guys really know whats good. Dan won after his first few bars cuz he broke down Bulletz how simple/unoriginal his style is. Dan an OG, ya'll don't fuck wit this shit obviously. FreshCoast.

Gotta give it to DBD on this one. Delivery, Comedy, and Nice Bars. 100 Bulletz came with it though, but fell a bit short in comparison. Just my 2cents.

Perhaps as far as judging a battle goes Dan won in the building. But so many bars were criminally slept on by bulletz and bar for bar... lyrically.. however you wanna say that bulletz killed it

***** If Bulletz hadn't stumbled, this would've been a bodybag. Dan had one line about Bulletz' excess use of word play, and it sure as hell wasn't enough to ''breakdown his whole style''. Everything else he spat where neck jokes and what not, so, yea, it actually is a good point.

You've got acrobatic bars but if it's your style, which it is, then you will master it. I don't know why but you make me think of an 'intellectual' B Magic, and that's a compliment cause B Magic is dope. You were going in in this battle, no doubt it's one of your best battles.

Dirtbag Dan, jesus christ man. I didn't think he was going to bring so much firey logic. Great delivery, punch lines, logic with, just fuck man, keep it going Dirtbag. That was top tier performance hands down, especially against 100 Bullets whose being putting on a clinic lately. I give this one to DD.

I love when people claim someone is "too complex" for people. Thats is the MCs problem, not the audience. Most battle heads want punchlines, not super-complex bars that I have to KZfaq rewind.

If this was a rap contest, I'd give it to 100 Bulletz, but it's a battle, so I give it to Dan. I think part of the problem is that when an emcee spits material that's too complicated, the crowd has to think about it for a second and so they can't really react because the dude is already in the middle of his next line. Saying clever shit is essential in battling, but I feel like too many cats are making their bars overly complex and that sometimes takes away from the impact of crowd reaction.

"Stand up comedy"- is what wins 99% of Hip hop rap battles going back to the early 80's. It's the gangsta style thats new, not Dan's approach. Don't take my word for it, go back and listen to the older battles from 1996 and before - it WAS jokes over "bars." The obsession with "grown man bars" (which is a stupid euphemism for immature fantasy raps) only came up much later (around 2002).

It's a battle, and you use your arsenal wisely. DBD did just that, topped it off with bars AND performance. Bulletz basically just read off his bars w/ no conviction.
