Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he won't commit to meeting the two per cent NATO defence spending target if he becomes prime minister. Is he any better?
I have been in Canada for over 40 years and have never claimed any 'child benefits,' but I have consistently paid my taxes. Based on my parents' income, it was better not to claim the benefits. Even my daughter, who was born in Canada, could not enjoy them. We continuously pay taxes on purchases, income tax, and property tax, which keep increasing. God forbid we need it, but we only see any benefits when we visit a doctor; (prescription fees and medications 💊 are excluded) it is better not to need it than to need it. Sigh 😔
