I start using the sponge back in October of last year and all was going well, until I figured out that my hair was flatten at the top. I stopped using the sponge a few weeks ago and I’m growing my hair so I can get twist. Btw: I had also realized it was popping out my hair when I tried to pick it and getting it super tangled.

Hey kozact, I think afro combs metal or plastic are bad for your hair. I think you should make a video on why using only wide tooth combs are better as they are just much more efficent for detangling while afro picks damage your hair just likes sponges and just make it have more volume

Man sponging messed my hair up. I use to rip so much hair out of my head using it. My sponge would literally have a bunch of hair that broke off in the holes. Now I just do Wash n Go’s or protective style

I still would recommend against spooning your hair because even if you’re fine with your current hair length, if you’re damaging your hair with a hair sponge. You could start to get patchy hair or lose hair in certain areas my excessively sponging

That can just sometimes happen not all strands of hair are the same , this can also happen from heat damage from blow drying your hair

Yes, I’d say it’s a bit too early, massage your scalp and keep doing whatever you’re doing until your hair is about 3.5 or 4 inches in length

I think you should be ok, cause I bought one last year, I use it cause I have dermatitis so build up from a regular sponge will make my hair dirty and create more dandruff. The twist king and Twist it up comb can both be washed. Plus they are made of plastic, so it dosent absorb the product you put in.

Make sure you ask them to put rubber bands at the end, and make sure to wear a durag when you sleep to hold it in place

Ohh a twist comb , a twist, is slightly better than a sponge because it’s a metal material but it still snags, pulls, and tears your hair so I’d still recommend against it

Massage and stimulate the areas that aren’t growing. Try using a hair growth oil along side that. Also try taking hair growth supplements that contain biotin. And once ur sides get long enough start getting then braided down in cornrows

I’d recommend against it, cotton towels strip and damage your hair as-well, instead try the hand sponging method shown in the video Or you could always try a microfiber hair towel.
