im so sorry if this a foolish question, normally in warfare is there any evidence that cossack dual wield their saber? i meant in open battle?...because i do heard there are dual wielder when in raids, skirmishes, or small scales.. because if they do, effective or not..i scared shitless man, like janisarries charging with their kilij

I'd say the evidence of dual wielding is right in front of you in this video. If you watch how he uses his checking hand, his left hand, it isn't passive but is being used constantly in his scissor-like blocks and those round rolling cuts either as a cross-guard to protect his sword hand or to block and feed his opponent's weapon-arm into his own blade. I'm entirely unfamiliar with the martial arts of this region, historical or modern, but I do have a solid background in eskrima from the Philippines, and I see obvious parallels. Notice also he indeed keeps a smaller blade handy on his belt on the left side--that's what I figure he'd grab for with his left hand, possibly in reverse grip on occasion. Notice too that when he uses his checking hand together with his blade, he often deliberately uses the back of his hand as he passes his opponent's blade/arm across his own; in eskrima at least, we do this to avoid exposing our inside forearm to being sliced across or filleted like a fish, because that's where all of the tensor muscles reside, the ones necessary for gripping with the fingers, and should those get sliced through that hand can no longer grip a weapon or an opponent (even if, in an adrenaline heated moment, you don't notice the pain right away). Filleting that inside-forearm is also potentially lethal with blades that sharp because you can't easily stop the bleeding with mere pressure because of the surface area and the diagonal slices across that artery make it hard for the body's own natural abilities to shunt blood and stop bleeding are impaired too (I'm talking lethal in minutes, not seconds, so you might still win the fight with a wound like that, but it's likely to be a Pyrrhic victory). This video convinces me I need to have a closer look at what Cossack martial arts have to offer.

0:18s in, watch the left hand. Weapon or no, right there is clear evidence that he's using not just the sword hand but both hands to grab, manipulate, and trap his opponent's attacking arm, and upon lock is likely breaking the arm, bending him over, and slashing the throat in one swift well-rehearsed movement. In tagalog, there is a drill that translates "to tie and untie" which is a flow drill that goes back and fourth doing just this sort of thing, except this video demonstrates that sort of trapping with a much longer saber-type weapon. Contrast what you see here to more purely western styles of martial arts dealing with swords, like Olympic fencing--the "off-hand" is nearly always held back, even behind the body and out of the way unless there's a shield or main-gauche involved. But that's because the left hand in those arts is viewed as a target that, if left lazily in front of the body, is to be whacked at mercilessly. But if you view the left hand differently, as a proactive weapon, then everything changes. And what this man is doing with his empty left hand can easily be done just as well, or better, with a dagger, or even a full-blade. In the East (Pacific), at least, beginning with two full blades (or sticks for training) is for beginners, then you take one of them away and replace it with a dagger, then a blade and empty hand, and so on, until you're left with bare hands. Of course, today, at some park district or strip-mall martial arts class, we usually start bare-handed and are lucky if we're ever handed a weapon at all let alone given any idea of how to use it--safer that way, from an insurance point of view.

There were distinctly made sabers in eastern Europe and the karabela is one of them. However cossacks also used weapons bought or captured from neighboring cultures. So yes, you would find shamshirs in use by cossacks too.
