I'm a pool player but I enjoy watching all cue sports. While watching this match, something occurred to me. Would a stop shot ever be played in a 3 cushion match? Do these guys even know what a stop shot is?

Non sense. The cue ball must hit 3 cushions before hitting the second object ball. Only makes sense for a safety I guess?

Stop shot is only used in a freestyle carom. In 3 cushion carom, your ball has to touch 3 cushions before hitting the third ball to get a point. So stop shot is useless in a 3 cushion match.
