Argonaut story is so dark jesus. I used to have illustrated books about all greek mythology as a kid (since I am greek there are tons around for kids) and I remember feeling my stomach twist and turn when mom read them to me before bed. xD Jason also did some pretty awesome shit. I remember all the rogues he beat, one with the table that cut your legs to match or pulled you to match table length. Or the other that pulled 2 trees tied one to each of your legs and then let go to rip you in half. Aaaah, nice children stories xD

Hercules take part in Jason quest to find the Golden Fleece. Like Gold D Roger quest to one piece. Golden Fleece = One Piece , Jason = Gold D Roger , Hercules = Kozuki Oden , Castor and Pollux = Shanks and Buggy :) , i think this is interesting.

It could still be a reference. It doesn‘t have to be a literal similarity. The swords are untamable because you need seriously good armament haki.

@@commonviewer2488 no, because Enma isn't a Black Blade. Indeed it was mentioned to Zoro that if he can make the thing a Black Blade its rank will increase and that is terrifying to think about. And we're talking a sword that eats haki or seems to at least. Oden seems to be the only one so far to be capable of using the thing in combat and that draws fun parallels to the Sandai Kitetsu which is literally cursed and only Zoro has been able to keep using it.

Yeah that was a mistake on my part, honestly the first labor is one of my least favorites so i really didn't brush up on that one too much. Also i knew i had 12 to get through so i don't go into great detail in how he defeated a few other of the creatures.

Hades was always the laid-back brother. Zeus was an asshole who couldn't keep it in his pants and Poseidon had anger issues, but as long as nobody was breaking any death-related rules, Hades was pretty chill. It was his wife Persephone that people prayed to when they wanted vengeance on somebody.

Just a couple of things : I thought the rabbit was in reference to the snakes sent by hera to kill Hercules in his crib which he caught with his bare hands Atlas holds up the sky not the earth. That's a common misconception though. Also the order of age of the gods is not by when they were born but when they were regurgitated by Kronos making Zeus older than Hades.

@@adrianrigby721 I don't know if he is considered the eldest (or if it even matters somehow) but he was the one to lead the war against the titans so he was naturally the leader after. Zeus Poseidon and Hades were the 3 brothers and Hera Demetra and Hestia(?) the 3 sisters of the 6 original gods of the 12. The real questions is, since there is 9 red scabbards, should we be looking for that number in greek mythology instead of 12? Like the 9 muses maybe somehow for example? Or is odin the single one that takes from Greek mythology for his inspiration?

Now i dont feel as crazy... I thought it was odd at the beginning of the chapter they used the term Agent of Gods for the Boar, which doesnt sound like what some from Wano would call it... Thank you. Garyjunebug also, @@rebelcipher , it's not about plagiarizing, cultures borrow form each other all the time, but when talking about 'greek version' with Hera and Zeus, it's a bit jarring to use 'Hercules' instead of 'Heracles' (which shows the 'glory of Hera' aspect of the name more).

Tekking I know this may seem random, but there is good reason for it. You’re a god of explaining lore, characters, world, etc. With that said it’d be awesome if you could try to tackle the fate/stay series. Given how complex all of it is, I feel you’re the only youtuber who could make it make sense.

honestly wasnt expecting some Hercules talk today, glad to hear im not the only one that really enjoys talking about greek mythology. though i dont think id have the ability to stop talking about it. specially with the amazon part where the amazoness penthesilea would later go on to fight in the trojan war

Tekking this kinda reminds me of when you went though the Devine inferno. I love theses kinda of videos, you should make a series going through a bunch of geek gods and their stories and who they were. It’s great how u explain this stuff!

Amazing video ! Btw in the north of Morocco near the Strait of Gibraltar there are caves called Caves of Hercules, where the legend says that Hercules got some rest in these caves after getting the golden apples from Hesperide. You can actually visite those caves !
