This explains so much about what IU was talking about in the Golden Hour concert recording. She kept saying how they had a curfew and the venue would be kicking them out and cutting off the power if they went over the actual time of the set list for the night 😅

I remember one of iu's coworker from drama she stared, and he said he was so shocked because iu is sooo smolll but she can sings for hours and hours and ours. And basically, the only thing stops iu from singing all night is because she feel bad for the band member 😂😂

Enhypen performed for 2 hours then spent the next hour saying bye in between songs. I don't know if that was supposed to be our queue to exit to the music but no one moved until they left and the lights came on. My feet were killing me. But it was a blast!

Not likely to happen in the US, I can see one or two encores, but full on hours so not happening. Stadiums have to adhere to noise ordinances set by cities, that includes noise from crowds inside the stadium if they go over and when people leave on mass at the end of the event. So the venues will fine the artist several ten of thousands for going over their allotted time. This is also because if they have employees they’d have to pay extra to keep them on past their scheduled time and if the security team is a third party vendor there’s also an extra fee they’d had to pay.

A lot of American states have quiet time restrictions so bars and clubs usually close at 11 or 12 out of respect for those that live in the areas

Psy is so energetic. I went to a New Year's countdown event in Seoul and Psy came to sing some of his songs. He basically "forced" us to have fun 😂😂😂 he "made" us jump and scream, like he wouldn't move on if he thought we weren't loud enough and weren't jumping enough lol It was so much fun but also very exausting at the same time 😂😂😂

She can’t do that in the US, unfortunately. The union rules, fees alone will be astronomical. And Americans tend to not like prolonged concerts.

It’ll NEVER happen here in the US. Most venues are near or even next to where people live and people do call police here on concert goers who don’t leave the area after a show ends due to noise. It’s insane. I got yelled at by venue security recently for standing outside and waiting for my taxi, saying I have to go down to the next block.

How many people have died in venues with locked doors due to fires and stampede? Are there no fire marshals in Korea?

Yeah, pretty sure most doors in venues and such in the US can’t be locked (maybe blocked, but that is a violation) for inside to outside movement. Obviously they can and often are locked for outside to inside movement, but that’s mostly just so nobody comes in late or when they aren’t supposed to. The push bars are required and specifically there so that more people don’t die trying to leave. Hopefully it’s just a rumor or they have other safety measures like those alarm doors, but that sounds really dangerous and irresponsible

Hearing that Psy locks the doors gives me major concerns, I'm hoping its just an exaggeration. There have been many mass casu---alty events that happened because of locked doors or no prigper exits. Crowd crushes happen at the door sometimes even if it was open doors. I'm trying to remember, but there were multiple events where a crush happened at the doors and everyone behind that died... there was also a sewing factory in the usa a long time ago that had a fire that killed almost everyone because the manager locked them in during work hours to keep them from taking too many cig breaks, iirc.
