I'm a 36 -year old, mainly a metalhead but I have a very broad musical taste and I listen to almost every genre out there as long as it's good music. I don't consider myself a member of ANY fandom, I just like stuff on my own and I got into k-pop a few years ago by chance. Being a little older and a westerner, after watching your videos I think your opinions on MANY of these bands have little to do with their music and a lot to do with something else.... which becomes painfully obvious when you criticize stuff like the use of the screaming technique on a track that is rock inspired and titled "Guerilla". It's almost like you were trying VERY HARD to purposely miss the concept and it makes you look obtuse. Anyway, have a nice day.

I think the kpop lover guy is the real kpop hater like I thought he likes kpop but then he proceeds to criticize almost every song they reacted to. This is why i actually didn’t want them to react to Ateez because I knew there would be a disconnect. When you look at Kpop with a American viewpoint you’re already biased. This is also a reminder that Ateez title tracks are very centered on the performance aspect, and why Kpop has become so popular. All 8 of those “unnecessary” members are actually very much necessary for the essence of their stage personas and the overall balance of the group. To say Ateez lacks vocals and then compare them to Stray Kids. A group that is primarily hip hop based with maybe two actual vocalists in the group. Is… A CHOICE. Oh and to the Atiny in the comments. Hi Atiny here! I like hearing others people opinions on Ateez from time to time to try to see them from that POV. I have a feeling you guys enjoy traditional and mainstream media the most so I understand why you don't enjoy Ateez music. They've never made music for the general public because KQ decided that was the best route for them. They wanted loyal fans who like unconventional media that's why if you research a bit you will notice the Korean audience doesn't vibe with them much. From the POV of the fandom there's a method to this madness that I know doesn't translate well to others lol As for your comments about not needing 8 people in a band I must disagree, in the past we had a couple of members who took a hiatus from activities and you could clearly see and feel their absence in the band, Ateez works as a family with their company and the fandom so that's why I can never agree with you. 8 makes 1 team is our motto for a very important reason. The other things mentioned are related to personal preference so it's totally fair, can't say much on that lol. Anyway all of this is to say I don't think you guys will ever enjoy Ateez so you should just skip this band they are simply not for you. (My beautiful Atinys please remember Humble and Kindness! I feel like there is better ways to deliver your opinions on things. The way y’all delivered your opinions made it sound like an actual fact while at the end of the day it’s just YOUR opinions. The comments like "they prolly thought this was good but it’s not" or "they don’t know what good music sound like" or the fact that you’re coming at the group because they have too many members, I believe u need to do some deep research on each member before forming such comments about the role of a member. This is a reminder that Ateez is as much a dance group as they are a vocal group, so for their choreos, they absolutely DO need 8 people. Also, if you ONLY listen to their title tracks, you're going to assume they're short on vocals, because their title tracks are all EDM based anthems. That's not all they are. Not even close.

That you don't like their music I can understand, but to say objectively that the producers don't know how to make a chorus is a matter of subjective judgment, as can be seen from the contrast between you and the people in the comments. And don't forget that for most of the tracks, these are the same producers as for Dreamcatcher songs (Ollounder, Maddox, Leez, etc)

The comparison with other groups is hilarious to me for a few reasons and the main one being that there is NO GROUP in kpop thats been plagiarized more than Ateez. Their music videos, dance moves and what not have been plagiarized by both k-pop and non-kpop artists multiple times, all because they come from a small company and people thing they can get away with it. Yet they maintain their title as a "performance kings of k-pop". NO ONE comes even close to them when it comes to performing- these guys are DEMONS on stage.

Honestly if you do not like kpop why keep reacting to it? It is not all about the music, its the fact that all the people in the group can come together and make a performance. Its the performance, story telling of the songs and videos. A lot of the groups have an on going story line through all their videos. Also most of these groups have uplifting lyrics and messages for people. I would honestly say get your head out of your american ass and do some research on some of these groups and why the kpop scene is what it is and how it came to be. Also your negativity really has no place in kpop. This music and its messages have saved a lot of peoples life including mine.

i think a large part of your bias against large groups comes from the fact that you focus solely on the track whereas kpop focuses a lot on the performance aspect of their music, probably due to their history of starting out on television whereas our music started on radio. A lot of kpop fans have a love for dancing and performance as well which makes having more members a plus. in ateez's case they were putting out dance content before their debut and garnered a lot of fans that way. i like hearing you guy's opinions on the tracks and everything, but you might enjoy kpop more if you add other judging factors and have more fun with it :)

I basically love everything you guys dislike about them. I love how overly stimulating their music is, it’s so hype and exciting, I appreciate all the things going on and how busy it feels. In regards to the number of the members, they are a performance based group, sometimes trying to fit kpop groups into the same framework you would with a western group is unfair because kpop is about an entire experience, it’s not just about the music, it’s about the dance and performance aspect as well. That’s why some groups have so many members ( believe it or not, there are groups with 13 or even 20+ members ), some are there because they are great dancers and performers rather than singers and Ateez is considered one of the best performance groups out there, their live stuff is incredible. It feels like their music is more so made to be enjoyed in a concert setting/live experience where all aspects of the group translate better. Idk... to me they are one of the most interesting groups out there, I love how bold and out there their vibe is, they’re just super cool. BUT I will say, you are kinda right about their choruses, they are definitely almost never the best part of their songs.

This is really painful. I get critic, but sometimes it feels a bit too much hating. Atom especially seems to really like tearing songs and groups down. Kazinho at least gives a bit more details and corrections and tells what is his taste. Atom just says. "They don't know how to do it!.... which is...ridiculous And saying that there is nothing to talk about Halazia and Guerrilla music videos tells me a lot of your personality....

I will pretend this reaction channel is satirical at this point... Because these groups are obviously doing a good job if they keep getting millions of sales, views and having breaking record careers. As a new THAI atiny, I dare to say that what I've seen is more than "expressing opinions." This is the first video of you guys that I've watched. So I don't know if you guys are professional musicians who can "criticize" their songs or not, but in my opinion, Ateez’s music genre is extremely awesome and unique. Including the harmonious voices of all 8 members (I emphasize ALL 8 members), this is not something that is easy to find in K-pop, so comparing them to other groups is a terrible idea. When I haven't seen the video or read any of the comments yet, I think the content will be the man on the left expressing negative opinions (for harvest views) and the man on the right adjusting his attitude to make his friend open up to k-pop idols more, but from what I saw, it was the opposite. If you're going to try and get views from k-pop fans, the least you can do is learn the first rule to reacting: Don't compare groups. Both BTS and Stray Kids are in different contexts, different generations, different debut years, different dynamics, and companies. Their sound won't be the same and it doesn't have to. That's why people gravitate towards some groups more than the others. Hearing something like "this doesn't fit my taste, therefore it's bad" is like hearing a child throw a tantrum because not all TV shows are what they wanna watch. I wonder what kind of artists these two are listening to usually, cause if you watch ANY k-pop music video, you cannot come with "boring" or "nothing really caught my attention", cause they are usually all produced super big and I dont know many western artists with mv's like that.😂 I'm a Metalhead myself and I can't call out one outstanding metal musicvideo at all, in any of the metal genres😂 I also would like to hear both of them trying to sing or rap any of this stuff, if they say they can't do vocals

Like the way yall talked about Jongho's vocals and Hongjoong's rap when they're objectively some of the best of this generation is beyond me- if you don't know what you're taking about, it's okay to just say it wasn't your taste and leave it at that And it's painful for you to look at a group like Ateez and say it needs less members. Again, a very American and rather boring take on groups. Each member fits a specific energy and use that is taken advantage of in different ways in different songs. I get that yall are just very westernized but this hurt to watch

😒 As K-pop fans we can handle people criticizing the groups we like. But what you are doing isn’t that. You’re giving these groups (you’ve done it to more than just Ateez) horrible criticism because they don’t fit what you like. The purpose of listening to music outside of your preference is supposed to be with an open mind and a bit of appreciation. Especially when these men have put in years and years of hard work to get where they are. It doesn’t have to be your type of music to be strong vocally, lyrically or even choreography and cinematically. And then you compare groups to each other🙄 Not ONE K-pop group sounds like each other. They all have their own vibes and should be respected for their hard work and dedication. I’ve liked multiple videos by you two but at this point it’s glaringly obvious you don’t give two 💩about the music or the performers. Saying they are week vocally when they have Jonho who could literally outsing any western artist is absolutely bonkers. Thanks for making it easy to unsubscribe to your channel. Do all of us a favor and stop your bs witch hunt on K-pop because clearly you lack the capacity to appreciate something that’s different than your own taste.

I can understand them not liking the choruses. Some of the songs take a while for me to get into. But I like all of these now.

see this is where our music tastes clearly differ LMAO i respect your opinions completely! but yeahhhhh after many years as a kpop fan, being a fan of many MANY groups 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen, ateez were the ones that really REALLY grabbed me (the other groups being exo and mamamoo). guerrilla was my first ateez comeback and it was an insane experience, the build up, the lore, the entire album... the PERFORMANCES!! "break the wall" being the loudest most hype fan chant i have ever heard they really brought the fun back into kpop for me. i think after a while of listening to kpop i got a little bit... bored? with the releases, but ateez felt really unique/ refreshing for me, so far theyre keeping me interested with each comeback. im always excited to see where they take their sound (and the lore). Not to mention their S tier bsides. my favourite songs of theirs are all bsides. also i really believe that all 8 members have their place in the group. i think youd have to hear some of the bsides to really appreciate all the vocals, rapping and unique tones that they bring. theres a lot of atmosphere in their music and again, all incredible performers i couldnt imagine the group with any member absent.

This is the perfect example of people who listen to music and expect it to be what they're used to. It's so ironic because in another video, yall mentioned that it was easy to hate on pop because people listen to it just because it's easy to listen to. That is exactly what you expect out of a song though- you expect certain elements and builds and get disappointed if it's not there. It's just super ironic how expected it is for these songs to fit the Americanized formula. I'm actually hugely disappointed in the inability to explore music here. It's not that yall can't explore different genres, but different approaches entirely. It's wild.
