That version of Roly Poly music video was intended to look old-fashioned and cheap, a throwback to 1970s South Korea. The real music video was flashy and expensive. T-Ara used to make multiple versions of their music videos back then, even including big famous actors to come appear and act with them. They always had the budget to do so.

T-ara were huge since the very beginning and MBK (their company) was no small nugu company, just because It's not SM or YG doesn't make it small. The girls had a hit after hit. Super popular. Their MVs are also very fun. For Roly Poly, this is not the official MV. They have few versions of it. This one that you watched is supposed to look cheap (it's on purpose) because it's imitating graduating high school kids in SK making cover videos of kpop songs. You could watch the other MV of the song.

I personally prefer the original version of Roly Poly tbh but still they slayed. 2nd gen era is just THAT era.

Roly Poly original version is actually far more better...It was actually the most downloaded k-pop track in 2011...it was meant to be quirky and corny in a fun light yet highly addictive...more 2nd gen please...2NE1, KARA, 4MINUTE, SECRET, F(X)

2nd Gen is just superior... YES ! Few things: did you spot Sunmi in Wonder Girls ? For T-ara, they were actually very popular already when Roly Poly came, their company is just cheap. Also you should checkout their music show stages, they were so fun, I bet you'd enjoy the song and the whole concept a lot more. For Miss A, Lena you can’t really turn your channel into a Miss A channel, they unfortunately have very little content, but yes they're iconic ! Lena you HAVE TO react to SHINee sister group, f(x) !! One of the most influential gg in kpop, golden discography and best concepts.

@@merksmirs yoohoo ! f(x) and SHINee bound is super strong, and both groups influenced K-pop sound, performance, concepts, even the physical albums format and aesthetic A LOT... Also I can't wait for the part 2 of this serie, I really love After School too...

I remember a coworker having me watch 'Gee' like over 10 years ago, and I was OBSESSED with this song and MV. I remember watching the MV so many times, and I have no idea why I didn't go further and listen to more of their songs. I may not have realized kpop had more groups because I was used to western girl/boy groups where there was generally only one at a time. Who would've known 10+ years later I'd be into kpop - not me!

Oh yeah ... miss A. These girls introduced me to Kpop and thanks to them I've keep track of JYP's groups which lead me to get into GOT7/JJProject since their debut. But back to miss A, these girls are LEGENDS they did what south korea wasn't ready for having strong independent yet sexy and confident women empowered songs. They are amaizing live and all of their songs are bops. Yeah, I miss them so much

I hope you watch the original mv for roly poly, this one is just for fun you know in the past in the school when your class decide to do performance of some song for your gradution, the choreo definitely suitable for the vibe that roly poly has, kinda 70's 80's vibe T-ara definitely had a lot of hit songs, my fav day by day, sexy love

For t-ara they have tow ver of roly poly both of them has there personality/glow so yeah also t-ara they’re the icons of the 2nd gen so yeah it’s an idea and not about low budget it’s supposed to be like this (cheap as u said ) + discover t-ara more to fall in love with them and see their colors throw through their concepts

T-ara was my super model when I was a child. After scandal they were still. And the snake said it was a lie. They are still my model. I forgave myself under favour of T-ara. And they were big and so famous.

Out of curiosity - did you only watch the T-Ara part of the video or did you listen to anything else I said in the video as well? My friend who is with me is a second gen stan and has been since 2011 and clearly she didn’t get it either, so maybe it’s not a “Stans these days” thing ♥️

@@merksmirs actually the one you watched supposed to be cheap like that, bcoz they were imitating HS students who do covers dance but in 70s 80s style... and it was a remix version, you shouldve watch the original mv, T-ara always have big budget with their mv, some of their mv are more expensive than jyp sme and yge, since they kinda do drama like mv's and hire top korean actors...

05:37 you haven´t seen MJ-Videos? btw. you find Rap-Parts in 1st. Gen Girl groups to, but sometimes from rappers they are not in the group. and as for Copacabana, that's a beach in Rio (Brazil) I'm not sure, but there will definitely be a strip club in Hamburg with the same name. Haven't been on the mile for a while now. Also, the song isn't really representative of T-ARA.

Miss A have some truly excellent songs & you simply must at least cover their main hits, including one of the best songs ever “Hush.” You’ll die. The video & song are both so many things. Also “Good-Bye Baby” where they may or may not kill someone.

@@merksmirs I hope you react to all of Miss A title tracks, there aren't many and all of them are bops ! In order: 2010: Bad girl good girl, Breathe, 2011: (Love alone is a promo song in English for Yuna Kim show), Goodbye baby, 2012: Touch, I don’t need a man, 2013: Hush, and the last one in 2015 is Only U. All the members have released solo music, Fei and Jia both had collab songs in Chinese with Jackson Wang, Suzy is mostly an actress now but she still releases music every now and then, and Min finally debuted solo this year!
