Love your perspective! I’m glad YG was able to add their signature sounds into a Westernized song. A great mixture of the two worlds.

This is their pre-release single for their upcoming mini album April 1st. I agree with you and think Babymonster overall has a larger range of vocals compared to Blackpink and hopefully Babymonster has a larger range in their discography. This song and M/V don't include all the members because Ahyeon was on hiatus when they recorded and filmed this song. Ahyeon (my bias) is re-recording Stuck In The Middle and Batter Up with Ahyeon in it when the mini album drops. I thought the song was very pretty and ethereal however I know a lot of people take ballads are a hit or miss. I am glad this song is longer and brings back a bridge which is something K-pop has been lacking lately. Its very aggravating because I know why they're doing it. I love how the girls can finally showcase their vocal potential. Looking forward to seeing where they go from here.

Hey! I'm a Blink and also Babymonster fan! I think people think they are the Next blackpink because YG is promoting them as such, bc in all honesty, it makes no sense. I think with their vocals they should be headed a completely different way.. I remember their IDKWTD cover and that' song impersonates for me what Babymonster should do in kpop. Yes, it's a blackpink song, but it's not classic blackpink. Even as a Blink I think IDKWTD fits Babymonster a lot better. Batter Up isn't entirely bad, it just doesn't show their potential. I know YG never puts ad libs in their tracks, and it's also uncommon to use adlibs in kpop, but Babymonster needs to go for adlibs, just like Twice does with Nayeon and Jihyo. It would have made Batter Up more hyped, and more distinct from blackpink. I like how they released this concept, because it shows they are hearing what the fans need from this group. I expect big things from this :) Also, YG stated that they hired more producers. They had 7-9 producers in their sleeve and now have between 40-50 so we can trust that versatility will come, unlike in BP era, sadly. And I hope with this people stop comparing the two

RAMI/SHIN HARAM, RORA/LEE DAIN and AHYEON/JUNG AHYEON are my favorite members in BABYMONSTER. Their vocals are out of this world. They are too good. I really love their voices. They are so talented. They are very impressive. They are so good at singing. I love them so much. They have so much potential. 😁

Blackpink to Babymonster

I feel like this is such a well written song, but the instrumental in the last half of the song was a bit confusing to me. It felt like after the rap verse and the beat coming in, the sections after it were a bit flat compared (the second chorus in particular - we got a stronger vocal but nothing else to back it). The first half of the last chorus felt a bit too empty for me, but the last half of the last chorus is beautiful with the bit of percussion coming into it. I just wish the whole song flowed together a bit more i think! The girls sound absolutely gorgeous on it though! So nice to hear something like this from them!
