I'm surprised Psy's Gentleman is here, when really it's Gangnam Style in 2012 and was the first kpop track EVER in history to hit 1 billion first, yes even before BTS or BP, friends. And I remember my whole year/grade literally danced down the hallways of school with a guy at the front leading us down. I believe he was Psy in that situation lol but it was fun. And it's funny how people didn't know Gangnam Style is kpop. Also I wanna add Nobody by Wonder Girls too. I remember it being in trend in 2009 or 2010 and I had no idea it was kpop. also I wouldn't consider Stay with Me kpop just bc it's in Korean or bc of the artists. It is actually it's own genre which is Korean OST (original sound track).

as a korean, I just wanted to add my two cents: tbh, I understand when a person finds out that they're listening to kpop and start disliking the song. it's understandable bc honestly, kpop/kpop culture has a negative connotation: it's seen as shameful and weird if you enjoy kpop music, and so some people might want to stay away from it. I'm not trying to justify that type of actions, it's utterly stupid and those people should reevaluate their mindset, but I can understand why people change their minds when they find out a song is kpop.
