what i love abt the Colors choreo is the fact that Solar really just contacted a genuine ballroom house in Korea called House of Love

the dancers are a major ballroom / Kiki house in sk. the choreographer said solar is the only idol to ever have vogeuing choreo from start to finish. although the steps are pretty basic, it makes sense bc solar also has to sing live. she actually brought the queer dancers to perform with her on national television in a Conservative country. solar is absolutely a Queen imo solar actually has a concert coming up so that's gonna be fun!

I believe the choreographer is the dancer with the star top. There is a vid out there of just the dance group doing the choreo as delivered. Also she actually performed Colors on the music shows with these dancers. She did get a win for But I. For the Colours mini album every track is a different genre and Solar wrote and/or composed 5 of the 6. She solo wrote and composed Colors. You absolutely should check out Spit it Out and Honey. She did a live performance video of the whole Honey mini album that is well worth your time. Prior to that she did a whole series of covers of songs that were very significant to her. They are refered to as Solar Gamsung (Solar's Emotions). They were put out as an album and she had a solo concert for them. There are MV for all of the songs and that's where you'll see the Solar you are expecting with her signature vocals.

whats great about Solar doing this is in the west a lot of artists do it for the PR and just to boost sales, whereas in S.Korea this wouldnt be the case, it was probably a demerit to her sales and public opinion but she did it anyway ❤

the floor work in this is really hard and u can see that solar struggled a lil bit in the dance practice lmao (which is perfectly fine since it’s what these kind of videos are supposed to be. practicing) however she performed the song LIVE w/ head mic + the floor choreo part and she executed it perfectly. i recommend u to check the live performances too ;)

You should watch some live versions of Colors. Solar actually does all the floorwork while singing live.

I hope you watched Raffy's reaction bc it was everything!!! 😂 Solar's albums and title tracks are contentious for some because they tend to confuse Mamamoo's Solar with Solar the solo artist and don't understand that they're different. Many people were surprised when Colors dropped but it's very consistent with what Solar's typical pen game(e.g. Aze Gag, I'm Your Fan, Big Booty, etc) is. As a soloist Solar has gone on a different than normal path. Officially she has two mini albums and one single album but there is also her much less talked about Solar Emotions/Solar Gamsung, which is mostly covers of ballads she loves. Solar didn't get an MV for her solo song on Blue;s because she did an MV for Nada Sou Sou instead. That's how much her passion project meant to her. ❤ So there is actually a lot of Solar content musically. Solarsido is another creative outlet that is a mix of everything she likes: singing, dancing(Positions and Peaches are my fave dance covers!!), mukbangs, interviews, literally anything she can think of. Very similar to Chuu Can Do It in vibes actually. Oh and she's been on two musicals so far, Mata Hari and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, so she has musical theater cred now too.

Mamamoo is one of the best group of singers known especially for live vocals and Solar is not just my bias in the group, she is my favorite singer. For more of her solo work, She just released a piano only version of But I, she is playing the piano and it is on Solarsido where you will find a whole lot of covers, one of the best michael jackson man in the mirror cover which she sang with MJs original band and backup singers. Also on solarsido, she has a few videos of her doing dance only with a choreographer. For her albums, She actually has a live performance video of her entire Face album, besides Honey with the full choreo, Raw is another that is hot. The other songs are also great but more for live singing not much choreo except Big Booty but you will get the entire mini album in one video. Spit it out was before that. Unofficial album is her Solar Gamsung project which is a series of 11 covers but done her style(though one is a mamamoo song she sings solo(and wrote) but the rest are other songs from the past, expect to cry for some of them 10 of the songs were done 6 years ago but the last song was actually released a couple months ago, stunning. She also has a number of OSTs for movies and TV shows, Adrenaline is one, Exit is another and a gem would be on Solarsido the 2022 end of year karaoke, besides a really good franki valli cover, she also does a song from Mata Hari the musical she was the lead actress in. I love all of mamamoo, Wheein, Hwasa and Moonbyul all have multiple solo albums, in fact Wheein and Moonbyul released this year(hwasa will likely as well) and they are on solo world tours. I saw mamamoo last year in los angeles, they are as good live as it seems in live videos.
