Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk Vol. 2, Ralf und Florian, and of course Autobahn and the rest of their albums that followed. Also check out their early live video footage on KZfaq, Rock Blast Kraftwerk.

@Lord Dr George Dufort LLB ITCCS world HQ Brussels Well, in some ways I wish Kraftwerk kept doing their experimental/electronic/avant-garde music sounds after their 5th album Radioactivity. Somewhat like Tangerine Dream or like Klaus Schulze. But I do like Trans Europe Express, Man-Machine, and Computer World albums. Yeah, Kraftwerk did open the door for hip hop and techno pop music all around the world. They did refuse to collaborate with Michael Jackson when he wanted to collaborate with them. Have to give Kraftwerk some credit for refusing to collaborate with Michael Jackson. Time served.
@mogelix35974 жыл бұрын
@Lord Dr George Dufort LLB ITCCS world HQ Brussels I don't know why Gucci Gambino calls them hip hop but they are definitely not hip hop. I'm not sure what you have against hiphop but you should tone it down a bit either way.

What I'd give for another 3 seconds of this video before it cut off, just as Florian is about to do the 'rabbit ears' behind the hostess's head! He brought such a subtle understated yet hilarious side to the band, despite the seriousness of the Mensch-Maschine image. The clip of the Netherlands performance of this bears that out as he is "OH"-ing and "EE"-ing at the camera as he hits the calculator keys...Wonderful.

Kraftwerk arrived at the same time as the microchip and the revolutionary era of digital watches, clocks,calculators, early digital video recorders VHS + betamax and battery powered gadgets by the the truckload they pioneered this digital revolution and in all fairness produced the soundtrack to so many electronic Inventions in their infancy and eventually mainstream in tandem, basically the timing was more than perfect it was gifted and ultimately theirs for the taking,don't forget they handmade all of the instruments you see from their world debut in the late 1960s and beyond and genuine music lovers adored everything about them and their landmark album AUTOBAHN...." FANTASTIC"...basic never existed in their own language but masters of science v music most definitely!!!!

No matter what language, this is the perfect pop song! What started with Hot Butter's catchy electronic version of "Popcorn" ended with Kraftwerks irresistibly catchy "Pocket Calculator". A close second might be Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough". But nothing has been so infectious since I'd say.

Kraftwerk much better! They should never be compared with that over-rated manufacturerd pop group.They stand out on there own as something much better & progressive. & as a 1970s & 80s nostalgia for today's generation who really can & will come to appreciate what was achieved by kraftwerk. Much better alternative to what was out there way back then & before. I've grown to recently appreciate kraftwerk music from the 1970s up until the 80s.

Definitely not the weirdest band of the time. The late 60's and early 70's were a wonderful time when record labels actually looked for weird, and different music. Faust, The Residents, Sun Ra, Yoko Ono, etc etc. I love Kraftwerk from the early krautrock stuff to the electro pop but they are far from the weirdest.
