Mike, not only does that Kramer look and sound great but it’s also a very simple guitar to take care of. I think it’s the simplicity that makes it such a killer guitar.

I just bought this guitar in the candy blue, and I didn’t have any expectations. I just thought it looked beautiful and I was going to hang it on the wall. I did all the adjustments you did as well, and set my action the way I like it and all I can say is, this guitar is an absolute diamond. It’s stupid good and I don’t know how it’s only 200 dollars. The neck and fret board are just silky smooth. I can’t even say enough about this beauty! If you don’t have one GET IT before you can’t. It’s perfect!

Love Kramer I bought one last year and was very surprised on what a good player it is. Only thing I didn't like was some pro bucker pickups. So I put some better ones in it. Man I can't stop playing this guitar.. Kramer is underrated....

Just got the ruby red one and totally removed the pot and installed a kill switch instead. It did sound a lot better without the treble bleed.

Good video. I love my blue baretta. I'm a super beginner myself even though I did play a bit as a kid, I like this way better than the Beringer I used to have. The volume pot mod is essential. I didn't have luck with the spring mod though. The bridge never fully went back to rest against the body like it did from the factory though so my tuning was even wonkier. Probably needs an adjustment or modification somewhere else to match, but that's above my skill level lol

It’s a good idea to tighten the nuts on the tuning machines as they are known to be loose. That is a beautiful colored guitar.

I'm getting one of these. I had a Baretta with a JB and a Floyd I got in '87, and while that ax had its upside, I was never a fan of locking trems which I had on a dozen guitars in those days. My rule with guitars is if they are good out of the box I don't touch anything, but if they have room for improvement, I will tweak it. One thing I love about Kramers other than the necks is the body shape. They have such a great belly and arm cut that it makes other guitars feel awkward. I'm glad to hear these have such good pickups, because I don't want to go down that rabbit hole if I don't have to. I own tons of pickups, Dunca, DiMarzio, EMG, etc. And I just don't want to touch any of them if I don't have to. Removing that little capacitor? I'll do it if I think I need to. Great vid.
@FultonStreetBeats
@FultonStreetBeats 8 ай бұрын
No you don't have too. However it seems that The bleed does not work as it should with it. If you find that the pickup is lacking that extra crunch you may want, just cut it out.

I kind of wanted to get one and put a Dimarzio super distortion pickup in it. I'm a bass player who only wants a few guitars. I like the simplicity too ,like the P bass you can't go wrong.

The pickup is Kramer's brand of Alnico 5's. The more mid to high priced guitars carry the Seymour Duncan JB's.
@FultonStreetBeats
@FultonStreetBeats Жыл бұрын
They are a JinWoo branded pickup. Made for Epiphone. But finding the factory they come from is hard to do. (Part of trade secrets and UCC code protection argeements. ) The reference I was making was more of a question of wondering who exactly manufacturers the pickups, or what parts are used and from what company. For instance Seymour Duncan even makes some Pickups for the Fender company. I am aware that these are not official Seymour Duncan's. But finding the source is what I was referencing. Seems JinWoo is just a label name from what research I have done. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused in the video, and thanks for watching.

I had a Focus 6000 and it was also one of the best scales to play. In Brazil Kramer are highly valued and that's why they are difficult to find in the hands of even famous guitarists.

Regarding the removal of that little doo-dad on the Volume pot, is there any reason a guy couldn't just snip ONE of its legs so as to disable it? Would that do the trick? (And yeah, I realize it doesn't make much sense to snip one leg and not the other; just kind of wondering...) Also, if the purpose of this capacitor (a "treble bleed"?) is to preserve treble when the volume control is turned more downward (which strikes me as a good thing), why would we want to disable it? I'm obviously not experienced with this subject matter, and I'd welcome any thoughts (within reason)!

I had a assault 220 fr white black ..i had teo .bc i loved the guitar but the way they routed the floyed or the wood they used made it sound thin.i am a les paul custom an LP prophecy player.so thats the sound i like.so i even changed the pups as they sucked.they where really loose sounding and i play high gain amps and oy reslly good high output pups lile my prophecy gx dirty fingers sound good out of them .theses pups had 14.k and sucked so i swapped them for a57 classic and a phat cat..even those didnt work it just sounds...hollow like plywood.. no matter what pickups I put in it the reason why I had two is because I really liked the guitar so I did what I could to make it work the second time I tried everything just would not sound the way I wanted it to it has something to do with all that extra space in the back I'm sure but I've had it if you Floyd Rose equipped guitars that didn't sound like that I play metal so I need my wrists to be super tight and I had to fight that guitar to sound that way no other guitar I had in recent memory had that issue it's like having emgs just too much compression is almost what it sounded like no matter what pickups I put in it very strange like I said it's a shame because the creamer is salt was a beautiful guitar that played nicely as well

The wammy bar on mine seems very loose in the threads. Are they all like that?
@FultonStreetBeats
@FultonStreetBeats Жыл бұрын
I haven't had a loose one yet. It should be snug. But the spring tension in the Cavity is definitely to much. It requires lots of pressure to use and put a lot of pressure on the bar. I only run two springs on a stock trem to solve this.
@HeinekenSkywalker636
@HeinekenSkywalker636 Жыл бұрын
@@FultonStreetBeats thanks, yeah I pulled the middle spring and all that I’m talking about the threads of the wammy bar itself. When it threads into the guitar. It rocks around in the thread it just seems really loose. Trem works fine. It’s just where the bar threads into the trem

I just bought the candy blue Kramer Special. The only good thing about these guitars is the neck shape and the color...that's it. The problems: will not stay in tune, sounds too bright and piercing, the frets are medium and don't seem to be good quality, tuners, bridge, and nut are terrible. I had to completely modify mine. All new black hardware (floating FR tremolo/locking nut), fretwork, FR string tree, new pot (Bourns), Seymour Duncan JB, and ebony fingerboard change (Neck Illusions-check them out). Now, I'd put it against any thousand dollar guitar. They're great for modding, and you have a mahogany body to start with, not plywood or some sub par wood

@@satchrules101 Check out Neck Illusions. It is a very thin and very realistic material that sticks on the existing fretboard. It stays in place, but won't permanently harm the wood if you later decide to take it off. There are tons of options. Most importantly, it actually looks like real ebony. It was a low cost option for changing up the fretboard
