Written in 1920, during the October Revolution, the song was intended as a combat anthem for the Red Army of the Kyiv Military District.

This is the first time I've seen someone use the actually singable lyrics of Red Army is the Strongest instead of the direct translation, took long enough I guess lol

What do you mean? The Russian lyrics are very singable.

@@willyorgy4677 I meant the English Lyrics, some such as "The Revolutionary-Military-Council calls you to the fray" is too long for the tune. Some such as "White is the Army, Black the Baron" are singable. The English Lyrics used here is the poetic version that is singable and in sync with the melody.

iirc, the "bayonet in hardened hands" line has an understood "in toil-hardened hands" and that thought sends chills down my spine. Workers, proud of their ability and stamina, ready to use them to defend the dictatorship of the proletariat. If only we had that in the 21st century.

The most contradictory comment I've ever seen. Soviet gulag was the graveyard of Russian culture, the Tsar, the Orthodox Church, heck even the Russian Alphabet was destroyed by the Soviets, Soviets were jew spies hired by the Kaiser to hijack Russia.
