It was no surprise to me. From what I've seen about Kraven by watching the cartoons and reading the comics back when I was a kid, I understood that Kraven is a man who holds immense pleasure in being called the world's greatest hunter. He has disgust in using modern technology himself to defeat his opponents, preferring to take them on with his bare hands, while also possibly using some old school weapons, but he was unable to find the equal he was craving for so long. He has also clearly stated that he wanted to be a man who rather die upon being killed by the equal, instead of dying on a sick bed. He is also a psychopath, as he shows no remorse for the people he hunted, even though people like Matin Li and Dr.Connors didn't wish to be in his hunt as they didn't wish to be the despicable people they once were. Despite all this, Kraven is surprisingly very spiritual, as he prays to have a good hunt and worthy death before going out on a hunt. He is also a very smart man, as he pays attention to everything he sees, and finds out something about the symbiote Harry possesses. You guys will see what I mean later on
