I noticed the same in one of Perlman's live performance. Anyway, David and itzhak Perlman are among the very few violinists who actually nailed this piece. I believe.

yes, had to watch it several times after I noticed it, I wasn't sure if I'd really heard what I heard. And also bow sliding onto the bridge at around 5:50, when he had to play that E again

Can you tell us when and where this was recorded? YT says it was posted a year ago (as I write, it is Nov. 2022), but it looks like it might be from several years earlier. Indeed (except for the blip at the beginning, quickly recovered from), this performance is brilliant and innovative, actually more compelling than the performance of this piece on his LEGACY album and dvd.
