Mad respect for Jalen Hurts. Not only he believes he has the skills to be a starting QB, but as a starting QB, he believes there is still room for improvement to be made.

I met Jalen a few times at Alabama, dude was always really nice. I remember the first time I met him, he had to get his ID checked at the grocery store I worked at. The cashier (I was the bagger) looked between the ID and him a couple times and said, "I thought you'd be taller." The two buddies he had from the team about doubled over laughing, I'm sitting there slack jawed. I immediately responded "Dude's a QB not an offensive lineman how tall is he supposed to be?" He and I ran into each other again before he left a couple times, we always got a chuckle about that cause it annoyed him a fair bit and appreciated the quick defense. (at least that's what he said, I never thought much about that part until he mentioned it. Was more stunned she (at like 5'1) said that) Always will have a soft spot for the man after how nice he was. (Lotta good dudes from that program but he always struck me as exceptionally nice)

The story of Jalen Hurts is one of set backs followed by success. Different coach or coordinator, same progression. Hurts is turning into one of the best duel threat QBs in the league and a top 5 QB in general. His win/loss as a starter is frightening. The amount of rushing TDs he gets is unreal, even without the "Brotherly Shove" Hurts would still rush for more tuddies than most QBs. I hope this year is the year he gets his first ring! So Hurts is a power lifter, but cant heave a hail mary 50 yards? Says a lot about his "arm talent". Anyway, guy is over-rated. American Football is the ultimate team sport. This guy is among those hailed QBs proving it.
@brandonmcalpin9228
@brandonmcalpin9228 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, because squatting 700 pounds has nothing to do with arm strength 😂 Legs, bro. Legs. That’s why he can’t do the “tush push” so well. And “arm strength” is just what they say, it’s honestly not even strength. It’s technique, particularly being able to throw off your back foot and using your hips all in one motion. Like in fighting, it’s not really “knockout power”. It’s technique, speed and timing.
@FoxxyBrown1111
@FoxxyBrown1111 7 ай бұрын
I am aware of all this. You can also call it fine motor skills, quick wrists, whatever... I never like the word arm strength for QBs. But the word "arm talent" is even more grotesque. Thats why I used it in a sentence with the useless power lifting stats (would have used wonderlic if the guy was ptaised as the smartest QB). The BS is all coming from scouts, not me... Otoh you have guys like Jeff George tossing the ball 70 yards with a mere flick of his wrist. Either way: The fact remains, Hurts is over-rated. He got all the praise on Sunday again after dink and dunking his way out vs BUF´s prevent-you-from-winning-defense, with a couple of longer throws in between (which almost all 3rd stringers are capable of if given time and experience on NFL fields)... @@brandonmcalpin9228
