Once there was a great devotee in Maharastra named, Jana Bai Ji. She was from a very low caste and small village. At the time of her birth she lost her mother and just after a few days of arriving at Pandharpur(a village in Maharastra), her father too died.
From her childhood, she was greatly blessed to have got the opportunity to serve a Great Devotee of Lord Vitthal(form of Krishna), named Naamdev ji. This blessing was indeed due to her good Bhakti of past lives.
Jana bai was a great devotee of Lord Vitthal. She did not wish to be liberation, Rather her only wished was to serve the pure devotee of Lord Vitthal, Naamdev ji and other saints. She used to pray if she dont get a human life, please make her a parrot or a dog near Naamdev ji house so that she could get his prasad.
She used to prepare food for Krishna Devotees. she used to sing sweet Krishna bhajan while churning the grains wheel to get fresh flour(aata). At times when many saints would come, on getting tired she would pray for a little help from Krishna. “Oh Vithhal, Please help me a little, I am too tired but I do want to make food for all these of your great devotees and serve them. Please come and help.”
Lord Vitthal would then come personally and help her in churning wheel in the form of Vitthal or Gopal ji.
Lord would say :- “Jana Bai ji, you sit on the other side and together we both can complete the work in no time.”
Such a great devotee she was .
