*Gloria Gaynor* deserves far more credit for this song than Diana Ross..who we also love but seriously?? no need to exclude Ms. Gaynor - and actually it's downright disrespectful to leave her name out of the description..esp., considering the recording history of the song and it's ratings on the music charts...just smdh.

yes, that's what i thought: *Gloria Gaynor..* ..wasn't remembering Diana ever covering this song..still, i'll look it up. 😐 EDIT: ok so Gloria was the original singer [and the only one i remember!] and she took it to #1 on the Billboard's top Hot 100 in 1979...and it won a grammy in 1980 for best disco song (in no other year was that award given, it says..wow! 😯). but there have been several live performances of it as well as other recorded covers..including one by Diana Ross on her 1995 album..but it reached only to being #14 on the UK and other European charts and #37 on Billboard's Dance Music chart. so yes, considering the song's history, Gloria Gaynor should definitely be getting the credit re: recorded covers mentioned!..and maybe tptb at the show knew that but believed Diana Ross's name in the description would bring more views..but considering what the channel is, they really didn't need to do that. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

The singing is good but I think what make it not really appeal to me is that I feel she lacked the desperation or pain from the song in her voice. It was all pure joy in her voice so she didn’t sing it convincingly given the content of the lyrics
