I really would have loved to see Kristen discussing Albert Watson, he was her early champion and a great inspiration behind lensmen like Meisel. Really underrated nowadays. He had that spirit of the strong, sexy, slightly punk woman without resorting to shock.

That's definitely one of my favorite fashion images. I love how down to earth Kristen comes off. I think fashion is too rushed these days. the images from back then are much more potent and memorable.

*She is one of my FAVORITES from the late 80s & 90s. And that Versace campaign was spectacular!*

The chemistry between Kristen and Nadja in these photographs was so incredible indeed. So i would die to see Nick doing interview with Nadja! She worked with everyone from Penn, Avedon and Newton to Meisel, Testino, Klein, Teller and Nick himself. So, i think she has a lot of great stories to tell. I just think that Linda, Kristen and Nadja were those three models who always did EVERYTHING to fulfill all of the photographer's ideas. And always had the best shots because they always looked different. Just these three fantastic women

Incredible listening to Kristen speak about the method behind the magic of Avedon..The Vercace campaign she did with Nadja back in the 90’s is so iconic that I had the spread plastered onto my ‘wall of inspiration’ when I was a stylist 25 years ago. What an Era!

Interesting to see how aware and how important the positioning of the lighting has to be. Her work ethic is remarkable.

I love how she calls the legendary Richard Avedon Dick, like as if she were an old friend of his, when he could more or less be her father based on his age.

There was plenty of re-touching with film. She doesn't know what she's talking about when it comes to photography.

I think she chose her words poorly and if she's not computer savvy she may not have understood that the difference is due to software rather than digital photography. What I think she is trying to say is that in the days of film, retouching (whether by airbrush or computer image editors) was limited to fixing small problems because any large alterations would be too difficult and time consuming (read: expensive) to contemplate. The photographer had to attain what he wanted in the studio as nearly as possible. In the years since digital photography has taken over however, Adobe Photoshop has become so powerful that retouchers can now radically alter a photo to the point of making it unrecognizable, even changing the seeming source of light. This has completely changed the way some photo shoots are handled and the models can no longer guess how a photo will turn out.

She meant digital manipulation. Give her a break. She wasn’t inaccurate. She knows as much about fashion photography as any model living.
