This shares very important message, ppl doesn't always get what we first responders go through. As a firefighter I wouldn't do anything else, its a lifetime choice to help those who need while putting yourself on the line every day. Saving ppl so the world would be a better place. :]

Kenny Wayne Shepherd has said a lot of people seem to gravitate to this song being about a death in the family. In reality the lyrics, written by Tia Sillers, came about because KWS was wearing a blue and black shirt - go figure. The music was written by KWS and Mark Selby, Tia's husband. You really should check out the original Kenny Wayne Shepherd version and see just how damn good he is on a guitar.
