I love this. I have a Bachelors in business management, 3 years at a general manager and then 5 yrs as a district manager. I’ve had my resume reviewed by 2 PM’s. I’ve been trying to break into project management for over a year now.. no luck. This video is very helpful, thank you!

Love this video. I just started the google project management certification for(shits and giggles honestly) didn’t have no interest in becoming a project manager or even saw the value. However, by the time I was done with the first course I grew a strong interest and respect for it and just wanted to learn more about it and the regular lifestyle of an individual doing so. This is how I came across your page. Now I wanna know more and really get into this career path. Once I accomplish my google certification I am going to sign up for the CAPM certification as I have not completed by Bachelors yet, but I just have honestly fallen in love with the whole life of project management and want to obtain this goal as quickly as possible. Thanks again for the videos on your channel and keep continuing to do an amazing job❤.

Thank you for this info! My position at the university that I work at shifted about from managing people to managing projects and I recently completed a project management course through our university. I’m in the process of studying for my certification exam and when you mentioned that your former employer paid for the certification, it hit me like, “Wait a minute! These folks changed my role, let me see if they’ll pay for this cert.” 😂 I’ll be sending them an email first thing Monday morning. Thank you!!!!!!

I greatly appreciate you taking your time to do this video planting a seed to consider PM. I am a seasoned teacher (15 years) transitioning to a new remote position as a STEM Curriculum Developer for an education software company starting soon!After 6 months, I definitely plan on stepping up and seeking out opportunities to lead a project just to dip my toe in and get a feel for it.😊

I have the CAPM and I keep putting the PMP off for some reason, as if I don't know this stuff like the back of my hand...smh. But this is such solid advise and i'd just like to reiterate that networking is key...PMI has a great deal of networking opportunities but please don't sleep on volunteer opportunities. The people I have encountered have always been very supportive and ready to give sage advice.

Hi Kristyn! Thanks for the video and PM tips! Currently, I'm working on an integration project at work related to streamlining a workflow process and moving off a vendor's site and bringing it in-house, i.e., cost savings and eliminate dependency. For some reason, I never thought this project could be related to proj. mgmt because there's no charter, budget, etc., but your video proved me wrong! I'm going to look into some online certification courses and see what's out there! Thx again 😊

Thank you 🙏🏾 when you study the PMBOK one of the consistent messages is communication is #1 as a PM. That communication comes in a lot of forms from presentations, holding people in authority accountable with with no authority over them, raising red flags where appropriate etc. The biggest thing is are you comfortable in situations like that or situations that require confrontation? If yes I don’t see an issue but that would be what I would recommend considering. I hope that helps!

I am but I think the biggest reason was discount on the exam if I remember correctly. My company also paid for it otherwise I probably wouldn’t have done it. 🙈

My training is in law and am in-house now actually working has a project manager and have taken some courses in project management, but I'm looking to find certifications or courses specific to legal project management. I'm hoping to transition from corporate governance and securities law, into a purely legal project management role (no more practicing law). Do you recommend a project management course/certification course for lawyers (or even paralegals)?

Look into ediscovery project management positions. You can get certified in Relativity, which is an ediscovery software.
