Only 48 % of whole Dakshina kannada district are native tulu speakers. There are also major Byari , Kannada, Konkani speakers. Dakshina kannada and udupi districts , half of kasargod region is native to All tuluvas , Kannadigas, Byaris , koragas and konkanis . native tulu speakers population is around 17 lakhs . and tulu is a majorly a caste language spoken as mothertongue of Bunts , Billavas and some udupi brahmins who changed their old mothertongue and some vokkaligas who speak tulu now .
