I had never heard of eagle owls before. They are the largest of all owls and the females reach 30 inches high with a wing span of six foot two inches!! That would be a fearsome predator to find attacking you. I am VERY glad the construction people stopped immediately to protect them until the owlets had fledged. Wonderful video as always.

They are grand creatures which have very distinctive low-tone cry that can be heard in Spring nights. There nests one couple in rocky ridge about 2 miles from where I live, just outside the town. There are more than 10 subspecies in Europe and Asia, and this our Eurasian one is bit different in looks than the East Asian one, but all eagle owls are closely related. The north-american counterpart to Bubo Bubo is Great Horned Owl which is almost as large.

Raccoon isn't real likely to bother a baby owl THAT big. When they're defensely, maybe. But generally raccoons don't want to take any risks for a meal. Raccoons COULD kill and eat pet cats and dogs, but they don't find them worth the effort.

It's in their law. Protected species should be taken care of in their own so any construction projects are automatically suspended if there are animals under the law nearby.
@scottjefferson4048
@scottjefferson4048 2 жыл бұрын
we have no responsibility to take care of every single species in this world, you think a cat cares when it rests on a bird's nest cause it's more comfortable? We only care because we value life, not because it's a responsibility, but we cant just put a hold in the world for an animal that shouldn't have been there in the first place, green areas still exist today n if they get out of them for X or Y, it's not our fault nor our responsibility to stop everything for their sake, we can do it if the opportunity is there, but it's not an obligation.
