That choke was deep. And it's one of kron's signature moves. I turned purple just by watching it.

@jsl8461
@jsl8461 4 жыл бұрын
@@Castlepa26 ADCC rules different from IBJJF rules. The first half is no points, the second half is points. The points system is different. Two of the biggest differences is that you get a 1 point penalty for pulling guard, and the criteria for a takedown is much more difficult to fulfill, but there are others too. In ADCC, all leg locks including heel hooks are legal. Also, it is legal to slam to escape a submission. Marcelo got a takedown in the second half that was worth 2 points. He also got a takedown in the first half, but since it's ADCC rules no points are scored during that time period. The score ended up being 2-0. If this were IBJJF rules, the score would have been 4-0.

Those guys are at such a high level. I've practiced BJJ and can easily see that Kron and Marcelo great fighters, but even so, I know they are doing things that I can't really appreciate. Guys like royler Gracie in 2003 Jean machadio in 2001 and 99, Nino Shembri , Kron here and so on..A t-shirt is no worse then a gi in which thousands of matches happen. Actually it’s far weaker ….. you think these dudes who grew up and lived on the mat would know a thing or two.. seriously what marketing campaign has convinced new guys that rash guards are something special?

Umm that’s reason for him to win he’s much younger and more athletic than Marcelo. You can’t really argue skill because he hasn’t had much less training than Marcelo, they both been at it their whole lives. So skill just comes down to who’s the better fighter. Marcelo ain’t in there with a white belt, it’s Kron fuckin Gracie and he put up a great fight. But Marcelinho is king.

not really. the elbow isnt even down, basically krone is just cranking on marcelos neck. you can tell by the way that marcelo isnt defending, hes just sitting and waiting. he knows that hes not going to go out, and krone is going to eventually let go. you can also tell by the way Marcelo is barely fazed when he does get out, his face inst red, hes not dazed or neeidng to recover, he just goes back to business.

@Jeff C good point. If one is so inclined, you can think of it this way: anything that gets you point in a BJJ tournament is very good in a street fight. For example, takedowns would break the guys back on concrete, or sweeps, or guard passing so you can punch him while in side control, or knee on belly which hurts the uninitiated quite a lot and is a good control position, or mount where you can deliver many many strikes. So I actually prefer the points system to sub only, because in fact, positional advancement is huge part of MMA or practically, and you can do many many other things that aren't subs, and you should really fight for positions.

One question, why is Marcelo allowed to wear tree trunks for legs?

Can somebody please tell me how Marcelo won this match? Seems like it just kind of ends with no submission or anything. Where was the "winning move" exactly? Pardon my complete lack of BJJ understanding.

I was so anxious for MG to win. Not just because I’m a big fan of his, but mainly because I don’t believe anything good should come to someone who thinks the earth is flat.

Like 2003 - 2008 maybe. I achieved most of his accolades when he was quite young. Still a gorilla in 2011 which for some would be their athletic prime. Marcelo was just different.

Garcia literally just held Kron down and didn’t attempt anything. BJJ should have more passive calls

Even the slightest of adjustments on the ground can mean a loss of position or a sweep. He didn't focus on a submission for most of the fight because its like a chess game. Kron was, at the time, one of the best at that weight. He was playing chess with Kron.

Chris Steverson I understand that but Chess also requires you to move your pieces. Chain JJ

i am interested in, what he could have done better to get that guillotine, i mean it was so deep and in, maybe leg go of the heal hooks and post on the floor and arch his back. i dont know just asking, ??
